“Good place to stay in Sasebo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

Room is clean, staff is very professional. Most don't speak English very well but they try. They have very few English speaking TV stations. Hotel is very convenient to shopping, eating and the nearby US Naval Base. I have stayed many times and always had a good experiene.

Room Tip: Be flexibel about getting a non-smoking room.

I arrived on business on a Wednesday and the rooms were full. I am not a smoker and had to be put in a smoking room to await a non-smoking room. They made sure the room was cleaned well and did all they could to get me a non-smoking room fast. When it was available they moved everything for me and made it as easy as could be. Breakfast in the morning (not included) is a buffet style mixture of American style and Japanese style cuisine. It is 1000 yen a day in advance and 1200 yen the day of breakfast. Overall the hotel is located centrally to the navy base, shopping and many places to dine, have a nice drink or just go for a walk along the river. All three meals can be eaten here. Breakfast and lunch are buffet style and dinner menu ordering. Overall nice place to stay and the staff is exceptional.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter and provide better views.

Stayed here a few times now and the hotel is perfectly fine, especially considering price. Friendly, English speaking staff, clean rooms, great central location giving plenty of choice in restaurants, bars, & shopping street just round the corner. No complaints at all given expectations and that Sasebo is a fairly small place anyway.

Room Tip: Try a room on higher floors or looking out back of hotel to avoid street noise (windows seemed to le...

This hotel is dirty and nasty! The carpet looks like it has not been cleaned in 10 years. The rooms are filled with dust, mildew, and mold! If you have allergies don't stay here. There is a front desk staff person who has no clue on how to talk to a guest, very nasty disposition.

Great location , good restaurant, very clean and comfortable rooms, even has heated toilet seats .
Staff is super courteous and bilingual.
Right in the center of Sasebo , close to US naval base , plenty of good restaurants , bars and pubs.
Two blocks from San Kacho shopping center , a mile long street with stores and restaurants of every kind and a huge roof overhead to keep you unexposed to the elements.
Great place to visit, the locals go out of their way to please you, amazing city. I recommend Cafe restaurant on the street mall for breakfast lunch and dinner, family owned restaurant with good prices, also Cafe de Luca if you want gourmet. Very safe to walk late at night for bar hopping.

An excellent, basic hotel. Plus' include: central location to shopping, restaurants, and Base if you are going there; parking (fills up in evening but alternate parking available); clean and neat; very helpful staff who speak English and genuinely help with whatever you need...this ain't Tokyo and you will rarely hear the ubiquitous "もしわけございません客さま、出来ない". They work to accommodate; many extras not found in other Japanese hotels such as ice machine, laundry facilities, vending machines (including beer at good price), free newspapers; very inexpensive restaurant...average food but it is cheap, tasty, and convenient with draught beer to boot; fridge in room, full size bathroom with washlet, soap, etc.; hot pot (bring extra instant coffee, you get only one, or get takeout at restaurant for ¥300); pants press in room; free WiFi and plenty of outlets (bring two-prong adaptor if you have three-prong plugs). Couch makes into extra bed also. This hotel also has more space than you will generally find at inexpensive hotels. Highly recommended.
