As you enter the hotel you are required to take your shoes off and lock them into a locker at the hotel entrance. We couldn't find a locker that would open, so the reception staff have is a plastic bag to carry our shoes in, as you are only allowed to wear slippers inside the hotel. The rooms are luxuriously large by Japanese standards, and although not modern they do not feel dated. The air con is strong and so is the WiFi.

The hairdryer is very weak.

The shower pressure is good.

The location is poor, it is close to the beach but not very close to amenities. There are a few restaurants nearby but after dark the streets are very poorly lit, and in some areas completely unlit, so it does not feel safe to be walking around after dark. I would only recommemd driving around after dark, especially if you are female.

The breakfast is simple but adequate.

The bed is firm but comfy.

Overall I would say it was a good stay, but the location is not ideal if you want nightlife or want to walk around after dark.

The hotel was located close to bus stop (@ Holiday Inn). It was fairly convenient.
The dinner buffet was nice and very good value for money; i ate a lot.
The onsen was also very good with a pleasing view.
It was a quiet and relaxing stay - good for retreat or just enjoying myself.
The staff was polite and helpful; they made me feel home.

Overall, it was a nice trip and I quite liked this hotel.

location is OK if you drive, but it is about 15-20 mins walk to the beach and aoshima island if that's where you're looking to go to. this seems to be a popular hotel with tour groups as we saw bus loads of foreign tourists coming in when we were there.

In Aoshima, most of onsen open at 10:00 and close at 21:00. But here they close at 23:00. Since we were late after surfing & dinner, it was already 9 pm. This was the only choice but it was perfect place! The water was really soft and nice. Shampoo, body cleanser, facial cleanser( famous one from the volcano ash), and hair treatment are equipped. You only need towel. Anyway, it was wonderful to stay and perfect choice. Staff were very kind and helpful too. If you are in Aoshima, it is a must to go!

This is a large beach resort hotel (not directly on the beach), used mainly by holidaying Japanese - there aren't any obvious sights around here on the foreign tourist trail.
There are rooms over 10 floors or so - comfortable with all the usual facilities. Pretty good.
Excellent onsen and sauna - that was the high point. Buffet breakfast was also very decent.
The mattress on the bed was very hard, it didn't give at all! That was fine for us, we slept very well, but if you don't like super-firm mattresses you might a problem.
Free car parking.
