Overall it was a nice hotel located very close the main attraction of the city. Some rooms have a great view of Kumamoto Jou, the castle, but single rooms don't. We had difficulty finding a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor, but I guess this was the hotel was full. The staff were quite helpful, but some may prefer you would communicate with them in Japanese. The breakfast was OK, but the size of the restaurant could have been larger for a hotel of this size.
