Exellent hotel in the centre of Kumamoto, fantastic room with enough space. The room was situated with a bathroom with a lot of space. Also enough amendenties available. The staff is superB. This hotel you can book without any doubts.......

Luxury hotel in the heart of Kumumoto centre. My room was quite comfortable, not very big as in eastern standards, but clean on the average. Only one remark: slippers seemed to be not new. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located in the center of Kumamoto. Staff is friendly and tries to help you.

But still it is below my expectations:

When I checked in, the room was very smelly. They tried to change but the other room was the same. It smelled like smoke, really not pleasant. The whole procedure took ages. They did not do anything about and I was not happy the way they treated this.
Then staff has very limited English knowledge so anything you ask takes long time to be understood.
Breakfast: they provide You with coupon, like on a self service place, really not acceptable. The quality of food at breakfast ist not good, and service bad, dirty things stay on your table for ever. You feel really like in a university canteen.
They provide you with one set of water for the room, so if you stay several days you need to buy yourself water to brush teeeth. Again not really pleasant, more like a hostel than a luxury hotel.

Overall the hotel is more like a 3-star hotel, but you booked Nikko and expect a luxury experience and you will be disappointed. Hopefully they will understand they need to improve their service level.

This is an ok hotel but unfortunately our travel agent booked single beds which are not great. There are double rooms available. With two travellers no room for two suitcases. Bathroom ok but only one towel each.
There is no safe. The lifts are just ok.
Breakfast is ok but nothing special. If this hotel is #1 in Kumamoto I am very surprised.
Good location near castle and shops.

Rated as best hotel in Kumamoto but nothing special. Rooms adequate, food good rather than excellent. Staff friendly. Good central location. One of those hotels that you will not remember a month after you have stayed there.
