We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. From Fukuoka international airport, we took a direct bus to the Kumamoto Kotsu Centre (Bus Terminal), 4100 yen for 2 pax single trip. Buy the tickets at the ticket machine next to the bus counter at the airport. There are regular departures. You can check the schedule online or ask the information desk. The bus stops at many bus stops along the way but gets you to the Terminal in 2 hours. Then a short 5 minutes walk to hotel. If you are travelling by bus to your next location as we did (to Kurukawa), it is very convenient. We also took a bus from Terminal to the port to catch ferry to Shimabara (from where you can connect to Nagasaki also).

The tram stop (8) is nearby & you can explore city using the one day tram pass (500 yen). The city's shopping arcade is just next to tram stop & you can find many eateries here. If you are travelling by train, Hotel provides free shuttle service to the JR station in the morning.

Our twin room with attached bath was comfortable & beds were super single sizes.
Wifi connection good. Onsen on 13th floor has one indoor & one outdoor baths. Small but adequate. Laundry can be done on same floor.

The bonus is the delicious free ramen supper offered by hotel every night. Overall, we had a very cimfortable stay.

Stay Dormy Inn Kumamoto for a night. Room and bathroom were clean and spacious. Staff were friendly. Few public carparks available next to the hotel. Family Mart and 7-Eleven just few metres from the hotel. Hotel provides free noodle and hot beverage from 9 – 11 pm (Supper). Will recommend this hotel to friend.

Location : Good, about 7 mins walk to Shimotori arcade, Automated carpark too, so make sure you get everything out of the car.

Room: Small, with 3 big suitcases, movement gets really restricted. However, wonderful firm beds and pillows and great water pressure. Motion sensored lightings could be a tad irritating at times. Not too sure if it is a norm, but wonderful touch in providing a variety of charging cables.

The noodles at night is also a great touch! Especially during cold nights, it is heartwarming to get a steaming bowl of noodles.

Service at the front desk could be greatly improved. Got a lady who was so curt- totally didn't feel like the japanese culture.

The hotel located in good location just 5 minutes walk to city center with many shops and restaurants. We stayed at Room with tatami area which is very new, nice decorated and spacious. Bed and pillows were comfy. Free drinks at lobby, Onsen at 13th floor, free beer and noodle in night time is superb. In addition, there are vending machines, ice machines and microwave in the specific floor which is very convenience. Everything was great. Highly recommended dormy inn Kumamoto.

Nothing less than the rest of Dormy Inn chain hotels. In addition a rest and relax lounge which sells beer. Massage and onsen on the 13th floor. Hot spring is very helpful after a day of exploring tired body and feet.
