We went to the to the restaurant in Tenjin, behind the Tsutaya department store. No romanji on the signage, so we were having trouble deciding which restaurant it was - but then we saw a small line up. Must be the place. And it was. The ticket machine out front had the selection labelled in English so we were able to get the meal paid for. We were seated in a little area with five seats, divided into little cubicles. We were offered an English menu so that we could customize our selection. We had ordered the classic ramen and the menu allowed us to specify things like how spicy we wanted the soup, how much garlic, how chewy the noodles.

It was a very short wait and our bowls of porky delicious ramen arrived. We discovered that the dividers between our stations could be folded back partway, so we could chat a little more easily. Our fellow diners, however, were all about the soup. And besides, the point of a ramen-ya is not to linger. It is to eat/drink your ramen and make room for the next guy.

I saved a bit of my soup and ordered some more of the sliced pork, it was so good. While you pay for your meal upfront at the ticket machine you can order add-ons from your counter seat. One popular option is to eat your noodles, leave some soup and then order another whole or half order of ramen noodles. That's for folks with big appetites!

It was a fun experience and the ramen was great!

Honestly, it is a tie between Ichiran and Danbo, and third will be Ippudo in my opinion.

We went to the one near IP Hotel, with a five storey facade (believed the serving floor is only up to the second). The experience was interesting. We were allocated to individual seating lots and all people are focusing on the ramen they were eating due to such a private environment. The soup is a little milky but tasty and I finished the entire bowl of the regular ramen. Only setback was that it didn't seemed to have an English menu.

As many writers say,the quality of food here can be nicer than average restaurant in the ramen capital of Japan.I wouldn't say no.But certainly there are plenty of better restaurants for the taste and services than here. And then,it's sadly over priced too.The head quarter of famous brand of ramen is clean but divided by claustrophobic little walls,as if you were a horse waiting for the race track. Finally, you will have the honor of eating ''the ramen'' in the black squared container by your feeders. You can hear them yelling to you something, but you will never see their faces behind red curtains.

Yes agree this is one of the best ramen, in Fukuoka. Soup base is excellent. Noodle are thin and cooked just right. Cha-shu is on the fatty side but it's delicious. Everyone eat in their own stall which is interesting.

The best ramen ever! You can choose the strength of broth, add garlic, onions, egg, pork. The broth is so yummy. I even eat this on hot summer days because it tastes so good. You order from the vending machine before you are seated, then you fill out the form to customize your order.
