A family member booked this hotel for our family vacation. In hindsight, there was nothing particularly wrong with this hotel. It was just not our style...not our "gunam" style. (i just wanted to use that song in a sentence). The room was very very small, felt like I should have eaten a shrinking pill before entering this world. The room was also super dark. I guess nowadays it's "hip" and "boutiquish" to be dim and moody. But it was just not what we were looking for. Perhaps if I were with a significant other, than that room may set the mood but I was with my family. The hotel itself was in a very popular area with loads of shopping and eating. Aside from the low lighting and tiny rooms, the thing that broke the camel's back was that there was no wifi! Some family members and I still check our business emails while on vacation so it was difficult not able to be online. And truth be told, we are all pretty addicted to the net so not being online to see what burger a friend ordered on McDonalds and posted on Facebook was unbearable for all of us:)

Come back to the hotel itself, it's a modern and stylish hotel. We love the decoration color in the room. The room size is OK considering that we're in Japan and we can find almost all the facilities we need in the room. We have a room with the view of the Tenjin area and it's beautiful at night.

There are a lot of restaurants nearby and the Tully's Coffee on the 1st floor seems also very nice.

When I first saw the hotel, I didn't even realize that it was a hotel because the sign was so subtle! It's connected to a Tully's Coffee/Bar that is open pretty late.

The best thing about this hotel is that it is literally in the heart of Tenjin. As soon as you walk out, there are tons of shops closeby (Forever 21, Barneys, The Abercrombie Factory Store, H&M... etc.). It is also close to the Tenjin Underground shopping area which eventually leads to the Subway station. The hotel is a very close walk to the river, where you can go enjoy the Yatai stands, where you can be served a piping hot bowl of ramen or order some oden for yourself. It's about a ten minute walk away from Canal City, which also has lots of shopping!

We were caught off guard by the price, though, because the website quoted us in a weird way, so it ended up being double as much as we expected. Other than that, I was satisfied.

Stayed here in September 2011. Yes the room is really small, but typical for Japan. Extremely clean rooms. I was able to walk to every attraction in the city. Stayed at another hotel the following night for the same price, and this hotel was far superior. Concierge was also really friendly and helpful.
*Tip: Japanese hotels are not big on wifi, so bring a laptop with ethernet if you plan on using your computer...
