The hotel is in a very favourable location with just few minutes walk to the Hakata Main Station where we can find department stores, lots of varieties of shops and restaurants. Room is quite small and is a little worn out. Free Wifi in room.The staff are quite friendly with just enough English. It is a fine hotel to stay a night for other destinations.

The Richmond Hotel near Hakata station in Fukuoka is a great bargain for it's convenience and cozy atmosphere. Nestled in right next to the massive Yodabashi camera store (making it easy to tell taxi drivers where to drop you off) and only a 5-minute walk to station, this hotel offers great comfort at an affordable price. I stayed in a single with a slightly bigger bed, and enjoyed free wi-fi and nice bathroom amenities. The only negative was, while the room had a window, it had absolutely no view except for the blank wall of the camera store next door. The staff were helpful, spoke a little English if needed, and check-in was a breeze. I was very satisfied and would stay there again.

I requested a higher floor room because I needed a quiet room. Although the hotel provided the highest floor, the room was facing the next building's walls. Views were completely blocked. Although there were walls, in some how, external noise level was bad. I suppose that the window does not block the external noise properly. One lady front staff was extremely kind. Front staff in general could communicate in English. The hotel is located in 5 minutes walking distance from Fukuoka Station. It is a big advantage. Breakfast was a choice of out of a few set menu with some buffet style. The quality of Breakfast was quite good and many items of the breakfast was quite delicious. The breakfast includes tea, coffee, yogurt and salad etc.
