This was our first time in Japan and we were doing all our own bookings as part of our year of full time travel. So there was a bit of touch and go not knowing how convenient our lodgings were going to be to sights we wanted to see.
This hotel worked out well for us on that regard. We were there to see Kyoto during cherry blossom time. The accommodations right in Kyoto were quite expensive, but this hotel is right across the street from the train station in Seta. It was maybe a 15 minute train ride to Kyoto Station.
The room was basic, but quite comfortable, with all the amenities hotels in Japan have. Not as tiny as our room in Tokyo. The staff was helpful. There was even a coin operated laundry machine so we were able to catch up on our laundry.
A nice place to base yourself when budget matters.More
