“Bigger than you think”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2014

While one of the structures is under restoration for another 4 years (Done in 2018 from what I saw) the pagoda is not and its a sight to behold! Very big and worth just looking at and taking a photo. Might even run into some deer along the way. A must see.

“Go for the Lanterns...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

This World Heritage Site in Nara Japan is not nearly was spectacular as the Todaiji Temple nearby but this one has something most don't --- 2,000 stone lanterns lining the pathways and eaves of the Shrine itself.

“nice but under restoration”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

Pagoda is magnificent. But some of the main buildings are under restoration recently. Pagoda can only be viewed outside, and there are fees for main buildings. Temple structures are unlike the ones saw normally though.

“A good resting place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2013

There are three temples and a Museum together in the surroundings, as well some resting area for picnics or booths selling traditional japanese food. The temple is not big but is interesting while the pagoda is huge and well conservated. The Museum next to it is also a nice place to visit.

“Majestic temple!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2013

It was a pleasant experience to visit Kofukuji temple. It's better if you visit with a tour guide that can explain to you a lot of details. I couldn't but feel the peace and positive energy there!
