Just a few minutes walk from Kintetsu Nara Station towards Todajii, Kofukuji is a worthwhile stop even though one of it’s main halls is under reconstruction. The five storied pagoda is the crown jewel of the temple, looking really old but beautifully designed. I didn't enter the museum but a stroll around the grounds is nice and quiet. Just on the edge of Nara Park, scatterings of tame deer wander around, and it’s possible to just walk up to one and take photos.
