This resort is located in the country side with forest surrounding it. In the morning if you open the widow of your room you can see the beautiful green forest around spring or summer time and can hear the beautiful chirping of birds.
This resort has onsen both private and public. If you are the shy type it is advisable to book the private onsen and the price is reasonable.

Located at the hillside. Very peaceful. The onsen is nice and big. The tatami bed room was wide. The design was a little plain, the typical mono tone color, lack of lighting. The exterior swimming pool was run down, full of green algae.

Room tip: Choose the view to the river. The other side is facing the hill. No much to see but the huge trees.

Mie is a unique place, full of September Formula 1 racing, pearls, beef, shrines that are home to the gods, and Hinotani Onsen, a riverside hot spring that is its own jewel in the south of the prefecture. A hotel and not an inn, Hinotani has the eyesore of an ugly water park at its low line, but keep your sight on the mountains, River, and hot springs, and all is forgiven. Excellent service and food, a rail transfer that felt like the Cat Bus in Tottoro, and and an autumn stay that will be short but memorable; as the hot spring sign says, there is special power that comes from the wood and it radiates.

Went there with a group of friends

Nice setting. Very peaceful and tranquil surroundings

Hot onsen. Went during sept. So it was quiet
But the springs were excellent
Food was great. Had a nice relaxing night there. But it's far from Osaka. Great to spend a whole day there. The rooms are tatami styled. So be prepared to sleep on the floor. This onsen is certainly designed for the locals. I would drop by again if I am ever in the neighborhood.
