The staff is professional. One of the managers speaks English well. The ladies serving our dinner are nice and helpful. Breakfast is in buffet basis which the quality is high. The room is comfortable and spacious. There are several onsens to choose from and some of them are in 24-hr service. The hotel is so big. There are some conference rooms, well-decorated exhibition areas and premium dining rooms which are worth to take a look.

We stayed at this large hotel type ryokan on a coach tour to Ise Jinguu and the Kumano pilgrimage route. They have the main building and an annex called Kishuntei (meaning delightful spring) which is where we stayed. The rooms are spacious and in the traditional ryokan style. We were surprised how well trained the staff are, ready to help in any way. The food served is comprised of a large selection of local delicacies. The staff saw us off as our coach left the hotel and the staff kept waving till we went out of sight. The hotel is close to the JR station and you can enjoy shopping at the gift shops in front of the station. Recommended.

Room tip: I would suggest you stay at the Kishuntei annex.

We lived in the Todaya onsen hotel located in Toba, and had an excellent experience in terms of living environment, service, ambience and value. Our booked room was really big, 103 square meters which features a large living tatami room, a corner resting area, a smaller living tatami room, a bar with mini kitchen, a toilet and a bathroom with shower and bathtub. The beds were quite comfy, and we had a good quality sleep despite the birds charming sound heard throughout the night in our room. The onsens in the hotel are quite comfortable and are different in terms of design, making our experience more varied which is good. The service in the hotel was excellent. Staff proactively escorted us into our room with our luggage sent directly after our arrival. They even helped us organise our slippers and cleaned them with detergent so that our slippers are clean even though if it is mixed up. The meals are served in the 天地海 restaurant, a buffet dinner and breakfast. The food was really good, and so as the service provided (see my other review about the restaurant). The price for 1 night was around 6100 HKD, rather reasonable and cheap as of the excellent quality elements given throughout our stay.

Overall, it was an excellent stay, the staff really helped enhanced our experience in this hotel. This hotel deserves a 5 star tripadvisor review. Well Done!!!

Because this Hotel located near the Toba station, we could walk easily having suitcases. Off course they give us complimentary shuttle bus.
The facility is certainly old. However they keep our room clean and the scenery from the window is beautiful. So we didn't have any complaint.
The dinner is buffet style. The atmosphere was very active and we enjoyed eating. And we think the taste is the most important factor. They have delicious meals only. In result we ate a lot of stomach.
Regarding bath, they have several kinds. Maybe you will be able to find your favorite bath.
Anyway we were fully satisfied with our stay at Todaya Hotel.

I had mixed feeling on this hotel.
First the hotel is conveniently located 5 min drive from Toba Station and the shuttle bus was always there to pick and drop off. We had to pay extra to have our room upgraded as the the room we booked faced a huge parking lot and the smoky air made it intolerable for us.
The hotels had a few spas and most of them really fun. The outdoor spa was especially enjoyable early morning when the sun rises. MAKE SURE you bring your own towel as there wasn't any in the changing room. We also enjoyed the foot bath which was just super lovely after dinner. Internet only available at the lobby.
We had a full board plan and the food was just sumptuous. There were many many choices both at the dinner and breakfast buffet.
The cons are that this hotel caters to big tour groups and host many company retreat. Some rooms needed update so carefully choose a room at check in if you want to experience this Las Vegas style Japanese ryokan.

Room tip: Choose a room in the building where all the spas are located.
