Ok this is 2018 and I am white, it's not 1980 and I am not a Japanese gangster so why the absolutely ridiculous rule about no tattoos in the bath, outdated and downright stupid.
Rooms are small, no coffee in the rooms either.

We chose a small room because we travel light and therefore can manage well.
The hotel is well appointed, the breakfast excellent and not expensive.
We did not know they ran a free shuttle to the station and caught a cab..it had been a long day. The cab cost 650 yen.

Room tip: Superbly quiet hotel.

A bit further (10 min. walk) from Himeji Station than some other hotels, but well worth it for our family of 4! We stayed in a large western-style room, with 2 comfortable queen-size beds, a full bath, a mini-fridge, hot pot, yukata & slippers, etc. The price was reasonable, especially with a huge buffet breakfast included, and the option to rent a "kashikiri onsen" (private family bath). The facilities are new and modern, yet the feel is that of a traditional hot-springs inn. Highly recommended!

The hotel rooms are standard small Japanese rooms, not much to say about it, but the main reason to choose this hotel is the hot spring baths on the 1st floor. Recently renovated and very nice and free use for hotel guests. The hotel is some distance from the station, but a free shuttle bus runs back and forth every 30 minutes or so.

Close to Himeji station. We stayed there for one night, which was ok. Time has passed since the last refurbishment of the rooms.
If you want a non-smoking room, double check your confirmation: our invoice from the travel agency showed a non smoking room, the voucher was for a smoking (what we haven't checked). Since the Hotel was fully book, they couldn't offer another room.
The breakfast selection is rich, if you like Japanese food in the morning, while the western part of the breakfast will not confuse you. But you will be amazed by the Chinese Communist Party national congress like atmosphere of the breakfast room.
