This is a Traditional Japanese Onsen hotel.
The area here is quiet and clean, fresh air everywhere.
The location of this hotel is easy to find and close to the station, like 5 mins on foot.
They have a booking plan including breakfast and dinner.
We booked two rooms for 7 adults, the first one is Japanese Style 12 tatami (along valley) and the second one is a Special room (Japanese style room with 10 tatami mats + 8
tatami mats along the valley),the second room is bigger and the view from our room is absolutely stunning,it catch my breath away. As i remember they also have a room with private onsen for you to book online.
They offered us a big room for dinner which is so thoughtful.
The food here looks like an art. It tasted good too. You can ask for more miso soup or rice during the breakfast if you don't feel full enough.
The onsen of this hotel is awesome and i love it cause it is quiet and clean, and the view make youfeel peaceful, you can enjoy yourself in this kind of place.
Staffs are very polite and helpful, they are willing to help you all the time.
We spend a night here and its unforgettable, I would come back again and recommend it to all of you.
BTW,They prepared a surprise gift to us cause there are two of us having our birthday in the next few days.
I feel so happy and surprise at the same time. Thank you so much! It is a great experience to stay at here!

Room tip: The special room have a great view and you can also book a room with a private Onsen

We spent a night here on our honeymoon trip. The hotel was very clean and within easy reach of the Kinukawa Onsen station.
The room was spacious enough for us and very clean.
We arrived early and they were happy to keep the bags for us until later. When we came back we thought the boy who welcomed us at the entrance was not very friendly. No smile but very quick at telling us not to bring external food or drinks into the property (we had shopping bags in our hands when we returned to the hotel to check in). He didn't introduce us to the facilities or the flow of service as he lead us to our room which is unusual for an onsen ryokan at this level. So we had to go through the room facilities ourselves and find out ourselves the dinner is set up 15 minutes before our designated dinner time. Lucky we came back from the onsen by the time the dinner guy arrived otherwise the poor thing would've been waiting for us. The dinner guy's name is Ōkado and we both thought he did a good job at serving and explaining everything necessary to us. We mentioned it's our honeymoon and was surprised to later have the female owner visiting us half way through the meal to give us good wishes and served us sake in a huge traditional sale holder meant for good luck.
We loved the amenities and the massage chair in the onsen change room.
Breakfast was not as fancy as dinner. Dinner was great in our opinion.
Upon check out the female owner farewelled us at the reception and gave us paying gifts as part of the wish well.
Overall we liked this ryokan and think it's good value for money. Will recommend for those who want to enjoy a night in Kinukawa Onsen area at around AU$500 per night for a couple.

Very good cuisine, bath, room and very nice and polite service! It was my birthday, and, though we did not inform the personal, they bring a glass of "Birthday Sake" during the dinner, and next morning at the check out they gave several very nice presents to me and a hand-written letter with Happy Birthday message.
Absolutely unforgettable weekend! Thanks a lot!!!

I spent one night at this beautiful traditional ryokan with my family. I found both the indoor and outdoor onsen very nice but my cousin found the indoor one a bit stuffy. The staff was really attentive as my mum turned 60 one month before our stay (and obviously the hotel stuff noticed as they took a copy of our passport during check-in) and they arranged a little “sake-drinking” ceremony during dinner and wished my mother great health. That was a very pleasant surprised we didn’t expect and my mum was VERY happy!

The room was clean, spacious and equipped with toilet and bathroom. We visited during winter and while the room was covered by the heater, the bathroom and toilet were separated by a sliding door and not covered by the heater so I would recommend you take shower in the public bath and be prepared if you have to go to the toilet in the middle of the night!

Dinner and breakfast were included in the package and the meals were of good quality.

Great place to stay. Conveniently located and a walking distant to the main station. Food in the hotel was GREAT. Communal onsen was cool with an open air area. We had a bath-tub in the room and spent most of the time there with beautiful mountain and river as the back-drop.

Nikko is a quiet town with quaint cafes. Despite being there in summer, the weather was fantastic. And cant wait to return during winter.

Room tip: Get the room with bath-tub if you are uncomfortable to shower in a communal area.
