Outside of Toyko(Omiya-Koen Station), there is a lovely museum dedicated to bonsai trees/plants. The inner portion of the museum has some lovely grand scale bonsai. There is information on the history on bonsai, how it is grown, and how it is judged to be of quality. I was glad the placards were in Japanese and English(many museums in Japan are not). Located outside area with a large terrace and bonsai as well. You are not allowed to photograph most of the plants. There is a really nice small gift shop. The surrounding areas has some bonsai nurseries and there you can purchase bonsai in a variety of prices(1,200 yen on up to 30,000 yen). I would bring friends here who love gardening and plants.
