Yes the rooms are small as everyone has pointed out, but that aside, this understated little hotel on a side street has quite a bit going for it. The location is really fantastic - less than 5 mins walk from Nihon-Odori station (take Exit 3) so going anywhere in Yokohama by train is convenient. It’s also less than 10 minutes walk to the beautiful Yamashita Park along the bayside and Chinatown. If I’m not mistaken, there’s a direct airport bus from Haneda Airport to Yokohama that stops somewhere near the Hotel New Grand overlooking Yamashita Park, so you could consider a bus from the airport if you’re heading directly to Yokohama. There are also a handful of convenience stories and even grocery shops a little further up around the hotel if you’re ever in need of amenities.

The little rooms are very clean and comfortable. Like typical Japanese hotels, they provide pyjamas and all the basic bath products. But unlike typical Japanese hotels in Tokyo, they provide full-sized ironing boards on request and there’s no two-hour usage rule. I also liked the multi-charging device that’s provided in the room, so you can easily charge your iPhone, Kindle etc. When I was there, staff spoke fluent English and were generally helpful. We could leave our luggage there after we checked out to explore Yokohama. For a place to rest your head at night, this is a really good choice.

Ive stayed in several hotels in Japan, all are great but this one tops them all! The room and bed are quite spacious for being in Japan. I got the full bed room and to my surprise my 6'2" husband actually fit on the bed. The matress was also not as stiff as a usual hotel bed. The bathroom was spacious as well. This it a 5 minute walk from Chinatown and a train station. Staff spoke and understood English very well! For the price, tbis is the best deal! No complaints!!

Had room 611. View down a street, not much to see. Room was in good order but a bit run down, could use a repainting. Had AC and the standard japanese refrigirator. Two large beds. Place could have been conserved if the beds were tighter together, but it worked. Very nice and friendly staff.

Room tip: Not any good views as its between blocks. Does have a firestation nextdoor, but that didnt disturb us.

The room, staff and facilities were excellent and was great value for money. Breakfast was more than adequate. Close to rail and bus transport that provided easy access to tourist areas although train travel required an initial 210 yen trip to Yokohama station. from there the options for travel were plentiful. The YCAT bus link to Narita airport from Yokohama station was the cheapest and more comfortable option than going by rail. Options for dining and shopping are plentiful and China Town is within 300 m from the hotel.
