We came for a conference party. The party was great, and what a venue! The pier is beautiful, with a lot of wood in its construction and also grass lawns. There are great views of the bay and also the big buildings of Minato Mirai. If you miss it after your visit, there is a webcam.

A very convenient location to visit – minutes from Bashamichi street, the Yamashita Park and Nihon Odori sta. From a distance the whole place looks like a giant wavy-like ferry/structure. Yet it has the modern architectural-style and is actually a rather unusual pier - an extensive timber decking, amazing! It is a very large spacious area giving one an excellent good view of…
One walks gradually up a slight gradient as the bayside seaview ‘opens’ up. Along the way there are lots of places to sit and rest providing wonderful views to either watch a sunrise or sunset from the pier. At the end there are some shops which offers souvenirs for the tourist. The Osanbashi Terminal is also ‘within’ the big wharf….
Nearing the end the Osanbashi Hall ‘underneath’ provides s a large indoor place which frequently holds events, many of which are free.
One enjoys real nice breeze off the water, and this is a good place to relax after walking from Chinatown/Motomachi area.
A visit to Osanbashi Pier definitely provides a great outdoor theme for the day.!

For taking pics of Yokohama port, I stayed in Yokohama for 3 night & 1 day. I suggest that here is the best spot for taking pic of Yokohama port. You may see the completed skyline of Yokohama builds.

It is like a park on top of a ship. The view from the deck is magical especially during sunset. And it also gives a very beautiful perspective of the Yokohama skyscrapers.

This modern pier was designed by two architects based in UK. The complecate curve decks are covered with the wooden panels and set the grass gurdens in places. It is a 15-minute walk from Minato Mirai area or Kannai station. Sometimes an ocean liner moors on this pier. I heard this pier accommodates the large ship greater than 100kGT, but some of the ships with high height cannot access because they do not pass under the bay bridge on the way to Osan-bashi. The largest ship that I saw at this pier was Queen Elizabeth 2 (70kGT). Once Queen Mary 2 (148kGT) stopped over in Yokohama, however, it could not anchor in front of this beautiful pier due to her incredibul mast height.
