I noticed the building because of its red bricks and I went in... it is full of little shops of souvenirs, foods, clothes, etc. You can spend several hours there, maybe if the weather is not so good to be outside.

Handsome, but certainly not magnificent, the Yokohama Brick Warehouse is a restored historical structure with a significant past, great views, and lots of restaurants and shopping. Built on landfill in Yokohama Harbor, where Commodore Perry arrived with his "black ships of evil mien" in 1853, the warehouses (There are actually two of them.) were once Japan's open eye to the world. Interestingly, the main imports from the USA in the early years were leaf tobacco, liquor, cotton, wool, and optical equipment. The warehouses also played an important role during the American occupation after WWII by housing military administration. The brick buildings fell into disrepair but were resurrected as shopping and restaurant meccas. Views of the harbor are interesting, there is a bright and lively amusement nearby, and, of course, Yokohama itself is worth a visit.

There's a lot of restaurants at this place. The brick house is unique but nothing special. The harbor view was good too.

This month they have a Christmas market in front of the entire area plus a skating area. Lots of small shops outside serving food, drinks and overall a nice atmosphere. Right on the water this is a great area to walk around. Not too far from the nearby shopping mall, it feels a bit like Europe or even Boston waterfront, South Street Seaport, or the Baltimore harbor area. Not much excitement, but if you are looking for fresh air and a quiet walk, this is the place.

Aka Renga Soko - always a good spot for a quick bite in the food court or window/souvenir shopping at many of the gift/specialty stores, though it gets very crowded especially weekends as this is a popular place for locals and visitors alike.
This scenic waterfront complex is beautiful during the day and night.

This time of the year they have ice skating rink and a small Christmas Market outside with food & crafts vendors and holiday lights & decorations. Very festive and romantic!
