“Amazing hotel - you have to stay here”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

A short trip to Tokyo made extra special by a stay in this lovely hotel. Views are amazing across Yokohama and out to Mount Fuji. Incredibly clean, immaculate, lovely toiletries, great comfortable room. Not a cheap hotel but worth it for the luxurious feel.

Room Tip: All rooms are on top floors of this tower which is tallest hotel building in Japan so I doubt you...

Attentive and efficient service, immaculately clean room (thank you KATAKURA), ample toiletries, silent air conditioning and luxury bedding, a 'must' after a long day exploring the area. Breakfast has just about every option you can dream of, Asian and Western choice. English language TV and really great in-room WIFI (unusual in Japan). If you are at a conference you can walk, under cover, to the convention centre and the train can be accessed by a moving walkway. Don't be put off by the height of the building, I expected long waits for the elevators but not so - probably the most efficient and rapid system ever. On the downside, it is not inexpensive but that is probably an exchange-rate problem for the Brits. If you can book a package with breakfast then do so, if not there are cafes, restaurants and supermarkets right beneath the hotel. My only tip is.....make you stress a non smoking room (unless you smoke of course) as Japan still seems to not quite 'get' that some of us like a nice environment.

All guest rooms are located on the 52nd - 67th floors of the Landmark Tower, the highest building in Japan, standing 70 floors tall.
I stayed in a standard twin room, which was impeccably clean, spacious and very good free high speed wifi. The Sky Lounge on the top floor is a nice place for a nightcap and also serves an adequate breakfast. Hotel location is great, there are heaps of restaurants and shops in the adjoining shopping centre.

I stayed one night here on the 60th floor looking west. I wish I had gotten an east facing room, but the view was still really nice. The main problem was that it was impossible to open the curtains even a little bit in the afternoon; just cracking them open let in an insane amount of light and heat.

The room itself was of course small, but quite nice. The air conditioner was powerful enough to cool the room down nicely. The lighting and water pressure in the bathroom were both good.

We also had dinner at Shikitei, the nice Japanese restaurant on the 68th floor. There's a special kaiseki only for guests at the hotel.

The bell captain was also very helpful when we were packing up a box of extra luggage to check.

Room Tip: You probably want to look east over the water. Looking west gets insanely bright and hot in the afte...

We had chance to stay there and the scene from the window towards the seaside was so beautiful. Definitely worth the price.

More than 2 weeks ago, i insisted my company travel desk to book me back to this hotel because I was really happy with my previous stay. Unfortunately it's a disappointment today the moment I stepped in the room, after a 7hrs flight, reaching the hotel past midnight looking forward to get to the room and have a refreshing rest to prepare for tomorrow's long day. To my greatest disappointment, I was greeted with strong stench of cigarette smell the moment I opened the door, no matter here you are in the room, you are just drown in the smell! I have called to change room but was inimed that all rooms are fully booked!

I am tired and really wanted to sleep but as you can tell, it's so hard to sleep now and its already 3am in the morning, I am still typing this message because of the smell is so strong and the window can't be open to let in fresh air. I wonder how I will survive tomorrow's long day of meeting! Let alone I have to stay here for another 5 days...:(

The tallest multistorey building of Japan is home to the Yokohama Royal Park Hotel on the storeys 50 to 70 (approximately). From the very big windows, one has a fantastic view over Yokohama. And even the bathroom is quite big. Unfortunately, the check in was possible after 14 o'clock. An early check in and a shower would have been great after the long flight. And also the loungebar on the 70th floor is recommendable.
