I tagged along on a friend's business trip to Tokyo and had a couple days on my own at the beginning. Thankfully I chose Yuka as my guide for the first day and a half. She started the email communication by asking what types of things I was interested in, and had lots of suggestions after I responded. She made it easy to maximize our time since she knows the area so well and knew which stops we should see back to back. This way, we didn't waste time traveling all over the city.
I loved getting to visit the antique kimono shop, where communication would have been difficult without her. I was able to learn so much more about each piece by having her translating for the shop owner. Yuka also knows a ton about Japanese architecture and had so many interesting things to point out about places we passed along the way, and customs, history and festivals I knew nothing about. She enjoyed hearing about my weird Texas customs too.
I'm so glad I had her with me at the beginning of the trip. I got a good base knowledge of the area and on how to use public transportation, and well as tips on popular places to visit and must dos. I would have gotten lost in the fish market without her!
I'd highly recommend hiring Yuka as your guide. She is like having a friend show you around the city. Can't wait to come back with my family and have her take us around again!
