Pros:

1. Massive rooms compared to anywhere in Japan
2. Excellent Onsen. For a mere 1000 Yen, one can get a Private Onsen experience too. Highly recommended.
3. 5 minute walk from the Hakone-Yumoto station and bus routes, where the Hakone Loops start.
4. One of the most comfortable and premium night wear / Onsen wear provided.

Cons:
1. Vegetarian options in the breakfast were even more limited than in Tokyo.

We chose well for location, for our Hakone visit, Hotel is clean and comfortable, special thank you to Mr Suzuki who assist with a slight room mix up, really easy access to main street and station, hotel onsen also worth a visit.

The corridor on my level reeked of smoke stench.
I had a non-smoking room and when I stepped into the room, it reeked of smoke stench! and an empty beer can under the bed! Clearly they didn't housekeep.
I went down to ask for a change and the receptionist said I would have to pay!?

I said that's ridiculous and asked him to go check it out himself, he then offered to have the maintenance guy go check it.The maintenance guy turned on the AC "cleanse" mode and it took about an hour before it became better, still with a slight hint of smoke stench.

Other than that, the facilities were fine besides a really small shower cubicle; it's no higher than 6ft(183cm). Onsen is quite spacious. Location is 5mins walking distance from a train station.

Room tip: non-smoking rooms might still come with smoke.

I recently booked this hotel/onsen resort as a special treat at the end of a 3 week trip in Japan. The location just across from the Hakone-Yumato station was very convenient. I booked the room to include dinner and breakfast. Our dinner was a wonderful multi-course Japanese dinner and breakfast was a very generous buffet that included several western style breakfast items. Our room was very comfortable and quiet and the check in process very easy. There were a few language issues when we had some questions that the front desk staff could not understand even with the help of Google Translate, but I didn’t consider this a huge barrier. The hot spring onsen was very nice with multiple indoor and outdoor options which kept it from feeling crowded. Although we were not there long enough to try them all, there are several specialty restaurants and a pub in the hotel.

Excellent hotel. Spacious rooms, lots of great facilities (especially the spas), helpful staff, and a range of eating options within the hotel. We'll situated about a 5 min walk from Hakone railway station. The room came with a complimentary smart phone that worked all around Hakone, which was very helpful for getting around. Not the cheapest place in the neigh our hood, but you get what you pay for. Would love to stay again.
