Stayed for one night in April 2018. The staff are very friendly. We stayed in a traditional room, sleeping on floor, eating cross legged on the floor for both our dinner and breakfast, both of which were included in the price. There hot spas for both male, female and jointly. Well worth the experience but one night was enough

Very good location. It is close to a river and short walking distance to Yumoto town and station. Very nice staff. Breakfast and dinner were served in the room and excellent typical Japanese with many servings and dishes. The Onsen was good, also with a private alternative for couples. Good value for money.

Premises a bit old and worn down, but that also makes the atmosphere more authentic.

I booked Sakura room #2 for my stay in Fukuzumiro Ryokan and totally love it.

Sakura room #2:
1. Have a private onsen room
2. Have a toilet in the room itself
3. Faces the river and have a small garden (refer to photo posted)
4. Located on first floor. Noise from people walking outside the room and upstairs can be heard as it is an old building and have thin walls.
5. Sleep quality is gd as the futon is very comfortable.
6. Quiet at night. Especially love the gentle sound of river flowing.
7. Toothbrush, tooth paste, yukata, a pair of white sock, shower foam, shampoo, hot and cold drinking water provided.
8. Dinner served into the room.

Basically you could just stay in the room to enjoy the onsen and meals!

Suggest to pay to take bus (100yen) from Hakone Yumoto if you have luggages. Else it is just 10mins walk.

Room was traditional and large. Nice area to sit overlooking the river. Staff were helpful and well mannered. Dinner was good if not a little expensive (10,000 yen each I think). Onsen was ok - there's a private one you can't book but can just go and use.

Given there's not a lot to do in the local area having to wait until 3pm to check in is a little inconvenient but seems standard - albeit checkout is at 10am so would generally expect check in to be more flexible.

A traditional ‘inn’ in a wonderful location. The place is wonderful and for a ryokan of this nature in Hakone is excellent value for money. The food is superb and the whole experience amazing. Very little English is spoken by the staff and the rooms do not have toilets ‘en-suite’ but this does not detract from the experience. The building is old and consequently creeks in places as you would expect.
