This restaurant was a few doors from our guest house, and turned out to be a gem. Family-run, on the second floor, they serve excellent food - Italian emphasis, but good steaks and other choices as well. Very friendly service. Not fancy, but you don't eat the decor, and prices are very reasonable.

We stayed at the Fujiya hotel just around the corner, and stumbled into La Bazza practically because there were no other open places except at the hotel. And what a wonderful surprise! Simple, classic, elegant Italian cuisine, wonderfully executed. From the salad starter to the spaghetti (one tomato and seafood, one with shrimp and vegetables) to the desert - everything was delicious. So we came again a couple of days later for lunch - and again, simply amazing (this time we had a steak, which was cooked to perfection). The prices were very reasonable and the host highly friendly and English speaking.

After looking at the menus and prices of the restaurants in and around our hotel, we took a chance and drove a few minutes to La Bazza. Great choice! Our waitress spoke English and provided an English speaking menu.

Both the hubby and I decided on a set menu (less than ¥2,000 per set) which included an appetizer (prosciutto salad), entree (beef steak for the hubby, salmon for me), and bread or rice. The salad was lightly dressed fresh greens and 2 thin slices of prosciutto. DELISH. Followed with the bread we both chose that came with creamy butter or olive oil. The bread was fresh with a nice crust and a chewy interior. Hubby's beef steak came out perfectly medium rare, very tender, with sautéed veggies and crispy garlic on the side. The salmon was seared perfectly which created a nice crust. It also came with the sautéed veggies. Everything was seasoned well and we both polished off our meals in record time.

The children chose the sausage pizza (roughly ¥1,250) and the waitress asked if we wanted spicy or not spicy sausage. My 5 and 6yr old shared the pizza and were filled. The pizza wasn't amazing (hence the 4 star rating) but it was a thinner crust, lightly sauced, and had the expected amount of sausage and cheese.

Having paid ¥6,200 for 2 adults and 2 kids (hubby had a draft beer, the rest of us drank water) we were throughly satisfied. Our hotel had a buffet that would have costed us easily ¥15,000. Glad we made the drive and I am tempted to return for dinner tomorrow night.

Parking - not many obvious options in the area close by. Parked in the Fujiya hotel overflow parking lot across the street mentioned in the other posts. No issues when we returned.

We were staying at the Fujiya hotel & were missing European food. Found this on TripAdvisor & were delighted to discover that this place was just round the corner. Delicious food, very friendly service - highly recommended although we would second the recommendation to eat early. The place was packed as we walked in on a Monday night & we were the last to leave at 8.30pm.

We love Japanese food but after a number of consecutive meals, we were open to a change. La Bazza was the answer -- plenty of set meals as well as ala cartel items at very reasonable prices to choose from. The sausage appetizer, pastas and bread were enjoyed but our party of five; the pizzas could have fared a little better. My favorite was the spaghetti alla pescatore.

A tiny operation in an interesting space (with an escalator as well as a surprisingly large waiting area). Reservations are a must if you want to avoid disappointment.
