I love glass artwork and Lalique is the world's best interpreter. Breathtaking beautiful examples of this artist's work.and the museum allows each piece to be presented in it best form. The setting for the museum affords a relaxing time out from the hustle and bustle of Japanese city life. IT is a must seel

Surpasses the wonderful Gulbenkian collection in Lisbon by including a larger breadth of his works including interior decoration, vases, decorative glass blocks, motor hood ornaments chandeliers, and jewelry. Lovely quiet ambience in purpos built facility which also includes a car from the Orient Express which has Lalique decoration. One of three highlights to see in Kaone along with the Open Air Museum and Pola Museum.

Such a nice visit - not too much to do with japanese culture, but there seem to be a mutual fascination between the Japanese and french art nouveau artists. Anyway, the architecture of the building itself was stunning, and the pieces on exhibition get all the luxury in the surroundings, that they could deserve!
A very fine little collection to be found right here in the Japanese highland!

The collection was acquired over 30 years by a private collector. Nicely curated & displayed. The museum itself is on very scenic grounds. We really enjoyed spending our time there. Suggest going earlier so you have time for afternoon tea at the cafe.

An interesting museum that is tastefully laid out to make the best of the pieces on display. Set in a lovely garden with a restaurant attached.
