My husband and I stayed one night at Lalaca during our honeymoon, and it was a highlight of the entire trip! The hotel staff were so friendly and welcoming. There are only a few rooms so all guests are given personalized attention.

English language materials are provided to introduce you to onsen and ryokan guidelines. I have never felt so refreshed after a one night stay - the beautiful mountain views, mineral water bath, and delicious dinner and breakfast were sublime.

Amazing small property with only 9 rooms! Stayed for just 1 night with my family, in hindsight, should have stayed 1 more night!

What I liked:
* It goes without saying that the property was clean, and all expected amenities were present. The room is traditional Japanese style with tatami mat, which is then converted into a sleeping space during dinner time with futon beds.
* The good is amazing - dinner and breakfast are served in a dining space (not in your own room as some Ryokans do), but the food quality is outstanding, and the experience is just as good.
* There is a public bath in the property, but at night, from 8pm onwards, there is also a private onsen available for guests to book (30 minutes each). Please take advantage of that, its amazing!
* The location is pretty good - from the property, it is a gentle walk downhill to Gora station. If you have a large luggage, take the Hakone cable car 1 station up from Gora for a gentler walk.

I definitely recommend this property for stays in Hakone!

A charming and secluded spot that exudes calmness

The staff are incredibly attentive and, much like most Japanese people we have come across, they were wholly attentive.

The food is full on Japanese, with no outside influences, so go with an open mind and be prepared for something different

A couple of days here is enough and the hotel boasts great transport links to see viewing spots for Mount Fuji and nearby hot sulphur springs

The in house onsen is extremely relaxing too

I was a bit apprehensive with the dinner and breakfast as my son and husband had dietary requirements but they catered to our food requests. The multi course dinner and breakfast was excellent. In our multi course dinner, there was sashimi, crab, and sukiyaki. We were stuffed towards the end. And the food was tasty. The onsen experience was wonderful as well. And the rooms were spacious and very clean. They got me a shorter length yukata, and a children size one for my son. I travelled with my 2.5 year old son and he was welcomed and the inn was spacious enough for him to wander around without being a bother. It's near the Gora station and easy to get to. The hotel helped us arrange for a baggage delivery service to Hakone-Yumoto station. I wouldn't mind staying another night if I had more time. When I first booked the place, I felt it was pricey but the experience was worth every penny.
