I've been to this cafe once before and had a lovely lunch with very competent, friendly service. Our most recent visit for Saturday dinner, however, was a let-down. The food (pasta, ribs, spanakopita) was so-so, and for some reason, even the homemade coconut cream pie didn't have a lot of flavour.

Our server was terribly inexperienced, putting her fingers INTO the cups and glasses, lifting plates OVER the top of our heads, and abandoning our table all-together at the end of the meal. The other waitress came over and apologized, clearing our finished dishes when she saw us sitting with a cluttered table.

The singer really wasn't great, and the music was too loud although we were seated at the table the farthest away from the mic. Rather than enhancing our evening, it became annoying. I'm hoping we visited on an "off" night, as I'd like to try this place again some time.

We've eaten lunch here before, but stopped by for dinner, and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the live entertainment. The food was very good, the service was great, and the guitarist that night was outstanding

The owners are very friendly. Our food was delicious and the acoustic singer/songwriter put on a fantastic show. Fun place to bring friends!

We were on our way through bringing our daughter home from school for her Christmas Break, and decided to visit this cafe for a meal. We had heard from locals about the quality of the food and the music. On that particular night there was an Irish singer, and he was singing Christmas Carols as well as favourites from his childhood. It was all very informal and intimate, and sheets with words to the songs were passed out to all the patrons, who were invited (nay commanded) to sing along to whichever pieces they knew. There were families of all ages there, both locals and visitors - this is a very popular spot and it is easy to see why. Housed in a stately old home which blends beautifully with the other buildings in this pretty town, we were seated in what would have at one time been a drawing room, with a fireplace nearby. The acoustics were great but the music was not so loud that you couldn't converse. The food and wine were excellent - the chef is very creative and our food was well-prepared and flavourful, and the prices were very reasonable. Guests were invited to make a voluntary offering to cover the singer's travel expenses - otherwise he was singing for his supper! But they kindly gave us a copy of his Christmas CD, which we enjoyed listening to as we carried on our journey back to Canada. It was a lovely spot, and we are likely to go there again if in the area.
