Evergreen Trails Campground
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Stumbled upon this Gem while looking for a place close to my Daughter that goes to Alfred College. Beautiful Setting on 200 plus acres mostly all in a wooded pine forest. We have camped many years and know a great place within 5 minutes. This is one of them. Wonderful Cabins of all levels spread out so you barely know anyone is around. Beautiful Ponds, Trails, and a Creek with Fossils! We had an RV site where we were very graciously welcomed and escorted to our site by the owner. I also noticed that he kept careful watch over a group of tenters that were not respectful of bathrooms or other campers. While we were there the Amish came with fresh baked goods (delicious maple glazed donuts), Ceramics was offered, a great fun evening of Kereoke also!! ALL RV Sites updated with new electric. Very Spread out. Lots of privacy. State Park type of "look and feel" Nice rec room, Outdoor Ping Pong,Laundry Facilities, Fishing Pond, Miles and Miles of marked trails and very very nice bathrooms! We booked 4 additional weekends. This is not meant to be a big noisey campground!. We had a rainy weekend but were never bored. This is a place to reconnect with your kids and enjoy all the wonders of nature. My husband and 2 teenage daughters played like kids in the Creek!!! Splashing, making small rock dams and fossil hunting. We ventured into the Town of Angelica that was rich with beautiful historic buildings, Churches and antique shops. Don't miss the Irish Pub at the Golf Course in town! ($18.00 for 18 holes of Good Golf) and DELICIOUS Authentic Irish Food!!!!, also don't miss Black Eyed Susans for lunch, or the Sweet Shop. All recommended!!! Thank You to the owners that are working to improve all the time (he showed us the updates to the electric, Stone work and ponds). The also have a brand new Jayco RV for rent! The site comes with a Kayak! The permanent campsites were all very neat and well kept. No swimming pool (thus no noisy kids either) but when was the last time you had the opportunity to splah in fresh cold running water and build dams and then sit in the pooled water? Cannot wait to go back!! Walmart and Wegmans are 20 minutes away if you need to stock up. Close to Route 17/86!

I have been camping here for many years and the family loved this place but over the past few years place has gone down hill. The roads are just pot holes and mud, the sites are not being maintained, and what use to be clean bath houses are now spider filled, and falling apart. There are NO activites anymore and what use to be a fun place is now just a place to go if you want to sit around. Make me very sad to see such a beautiful place become just another dirty camp where all that is left is the people who have been there since the place first opened.

My boyfriend and I went to this campground over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend October 2012. We stayed in the Pawnee cabin. The price was great, $55 a night! The cabins were perfect, small, clean (really, really clean), excellent heater and coffee maker, small fridge and hot plate.

The bathrooms were a quick walk away, they too were incredibly clean. The coin operated showers were hot but low water pressure (not bad for camping though).

The camp was nearly empty as they are winding up their 2012 season, so we got the peace and quiet we were craving.

The entire campground was all decorated for Halloween, every corner you turned there were more decorations! Totally awesome. Nice wooded area for walking, a pond to sit by, fire pits, pavillion with campfire, this place has it all. The star gazing at night was incredible!! So dark and clear you could see the milkyway!!

You can tell the owners really love this place and it shows! When we were checking out there was a family in there reserving their favourite cabin until the year 2015!! Ha ha ha...

We would like to go back in the summer time and bring the kids!

Room Tip: Pawnee cabin is close to the Pavillion and bathrooms

I will absolutely be returning to this campground! We stayed in one of the small cabins with our 1 year old. The cabins were not only cute, but were spotless. They were so clean that I had no problem allowing her to go barefoot inside. And they were private. Even though the other cabins were close, there was a thick row of trees and other greenery between them, so you can't even see the cabins next to you. They were roomy enough for us to fit a Pack 'N Play in between the bed and bunks and the beds were comfortable... not hotel quality, but it's a cabin not the Hilton. One night got cold enough for us to use the heat, and boy does that work fast!

The bathrooms and showers were also spotless and it was so nice that they weren't the typical 'mens' and 'women's' bathrooms. There were 4 separate rooms each with a shower, toilet, and sink. This worked really nice for taking care of a baby. The owners were incredibly friendly and very accommodating. You can tell they put a lot into their campground.

The ONLY negative thing I have to say is that the ground around our cabin was a bit.. hilly. There were several pretty deep dips where it looked like cars had been parked. Not a big deal for adults or older children, but, for one just learning to walk they were a little hazard that was easily blocked off my moving the picnic table.

Cabins were adorable and grouped together making it nice to camp with a large group.Cabins had heat and clean furnishings.Restrooms were conveniently located and showers actually had HOT water. The owners Sue and Joe were so attentive to our large group and made the weekend very comfortable.Very pet friendly as well. The property has a babbling brook that runs through the center making for such a peaceful setting! The full moon peeking through the tall conifers at night was amazing. Will definately visit again soon. Lori M.

Room Tip: cabins by the brook will lull you to sleep!
