I am a c4/5 incomplete quadraplegic and My partner and I went to Japan on the 4 April for 3 week, the barrier free room ( wheelchair accessible room) was terrible. I am a quadriplegic and my electric wheelchair just fit in the lift with enough room for myself, once in the room I could move back and forward in a 4meter space, could not get beside the beds to transfer in and the beds weren't comfortable at all not good if you can't move around by yourself.
The toilet and shower were separate from each other, the toilet being down like a long thing hall way type which made it very difficult to use. The shower was a small space which proved very difficult to use as there was very little room to move around.
The room is very small with little storage space for bags and equipment.
The I house resturant was very difficult to figure out as all the menus were all in Japanese and no staff could translate what they had to offer.
This hotel is very traditional in the Japanese culture
We needed to be close to Tsukuba university which we were told the hotel was 3 km away which turned out to be around 12 km away which proved difficult as there was not much public transport from the hotel to Tsukuba Uni.More
