The 25 meter lap pool with 4 lanes is a terrific amenity for travelers - well worth the 1500 yen cost. I also enjoyed the 1960s Mad Men style architecture and decor in the hotel. This is very unusual in airport hotels which are usually uninspiring in their design.

We wanted a comfortable last night in japan before an early flight. We chose the hilton. Great room, large spacious lobby and we looked forward to the swimming pool, steam room and jacuzzi.

However, we were told on arrival wifi in room was an additional charge. Why? Throughout japan we had wifi free of charge. Why is hilton charging for this. It should be a given in a hotel like this.

Secondly we were told it would be 1500 yen person to use he pool! We complained that this was not clear on the website and our booking. In fact it was the reason we chose the hotel! The staff waived the fee which we saw as acknowledgement that it was not clear. The gym was free of charge and it was a good sized gym with good equipment.

I wouldn't choose to stay here again based on the hidden charges, though we did enjoy our stay.

We were told that Narita is a nice place to stop for a brief visit. The hotel dropped us off at the train station which was a short walk from up Naritasan where there is a historical shopping area leading up to the temple. We had a unagi (eel) on rice meal in a restaurant which was the best we've ever had! The shops were nice too for picking up last minute souvenirs - better than the airport mall. Make sure you give enough time for the shuttle ride though, especially if it stops at the Shopping Mall.

I made a last minute reservation and was given a great room. Everyone, was kind and made me feel at home. They were particularly helpful when I overslept, due to great bed and comforter, doing a quick money exchange, calling me a cab, putting luggage and personal belongings into cab and in his own language telling him "airport and hurry".

Clean rooms, good service, good food at the hotel restaurant. What you would expect of a Hilton, no more, no less. Robe, slippers in the room to use. Located within a 10 minute bus/shuttle ride from the airport. Breakfast is not free, came at reduced price. You choose Hilton hotels for dependability, and this specific one did not fail.

The hotel is very close to Narita Aiport, the shuttle bus is very reliable and practical. The room itself was rather small. The bed was big and comfortable. The room was very clean and the aircon/heating worked perfectly. The room had a lot of amenities and even a Yukata and slippers...The hotel has an amazing gym, indoor pool and spa! I really enjoyed using it. The breakfast was amazing! Buffet style with warm and cold dishes... Western and Japanese. The hotel staff is very polite and helpful, besides some moody guy at the reception... There are some shuttle buses to take you to the city of Narita where you can find a lot of restaurants. I would use this hotel anytime!

If you need to overnight while passing thru Narita, then you really can't go wrong at the Hilton. Narita is out in the middle of nowhere so there isn't a lot of options. They don't let them stop them from offering a solid Hilton experience.

*Transfer to/from the airport does take about 15 minutes. Clearly signed from inside the arrivals area on where to find their dedicated shuttle bus. Good frequency of about every 10 to 15 minutes depending on the time of day.

*Check-in was efficient. They have a single queue and move people through it efficiently. They have an HHonors check-in area but they don't appear to direct folks there if they are top-tier.

*We booked a standard room but took an upgrade at check-in. We are glad we did....the rooms are traditional Japanese in size so they are already pretty small. The upgrade we took gave us a "two room" area that was still a little tight on space. But since it was only for one night it was fine. I am just not sure how comfortable we would have been in a non-upgraded space.

*Bathroom is a respectable size considering how tight the room was. Shower and bath were separate, as was the toilet area and then dual sinks.

*We had a light snack on the evening of our arrival in the main restaurant. Nothing extravagant and the food was "adequate". It didn't blow our socks off but it wasn't garbage either. Once again, solid down the middle.

*We did partake in the breakfast buffet in the morning. A respectable layout of standard hotel buffet offerings...including traditional Japanese, Western and other flavors of food. The eggs and items in the serving dishes were a tad cold but were still edible.

*The shuttle back to the airport undergoes a "security check" so make sure you have your passport handy! Also, make sure you luggage goes in the right hold since there is a specific section of Terminal 1 versus Terminal 2.

So, would I stay there again? Sure if I was overnighting again before a flight. If I want a true "Tokyo" experience then I would head into town.

Room Tip: The upgrade, if offered, is most likely worth it.
