“Friendly hotel in front of Narita station”
Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

This hotel is to stay just one night in case of early flight.
Is located in fron of Narita city train statin.
You can jump in Narita airport terminal 1 or 2, then get local train at same platform and return to Narita city.
Is located at Heath of a small city named Narita.
Please note that the hotel is a little bit old, but clean.
The bed is Japanese stile, soft like a rock, hahahaha.

Never thought I'd be writing an excellent review for a Mercure, but here it is! After 5 weeks of travelling across Russia, China & Japan we picked this for our very last night. Just wanted somewhere close to the airport representing good value. It certainly did this and lots more, as Narita has a really characterful centre, with some great little restaurants and bars. The hotel rooms were the most spacious of our own trip, very comfortable and with wifi. And the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to the terminals. Really spot on. Stay here before you fly and you'll enjoy Narita and wonder how you coped in all those cramped rooms elsewhere in Japan!!

I stay here because I have no choice. The hotel is in need of a major refurb it hasn't been touched in years. My rooms melt awful like really bad sweaty socks and I had the view of the train station(plays strange tunes during the daywhich wouldn't bother me normally except that in front of the station is major building works so I had very little sleep during my stay.
If you have never been to Japan you would imagine everything would be super trendy high tech, think again as this hotels rooms are like a static caravan form the seventies! The bathroom is like nothing you would have ever experienced in any hotel before. The entire bathroom is brown and beige moulded plastic and the toilet bizarre as its electric and flushes as soon as you sit on it. And the shower shoots water on to the wall. Rock hard beds, paper thin walls(had to listen to the cringe worthy going on next door!!). It was very warm weather and the air conditioning wasn't working which a colleague informed us was supposed to have been fixed the day before but reading a review from last month it wasn't working then! Hotel reception staff are as you would expect in Japan, dead pan straight polite, no smiles.
Location is good in the centre of Narita that's about it!

The hotel has a satisfactory standard, and there are (at least in summer) offers of very discounted rooms (without breakfast), although "not refundable". A part of the rooms is in an annexe, which however can be reached without leaving the hotel. The location is a few tens of meters both from JR and Keisei railway stations, then in very few minutes you can reach the airport. The hotel is useful, therefore, to fly in the morning without having to get up very early.

Just spent the night here. Good location, right between the JR line and Keisei line, one stop from the airport. Couldn't hear the trains at all, or the flights from Narita. Rooms are fine, the bathroom was ok. Though it did have the oldest washlet toilet I've seen in a long time, 1980s-ish. My room, 1001, a deluxe single was quiet and roomier than I expected. Breakfast in the Seychelles restaurant, (why Seychelles?, we're in Chiba) was good, but some hot items weren't hot. For a price, it's fine. There isn't much around the hotel, entertainment wise unless you're into strip clubs and snacks, there are also a few izakaya. A place to crash before a long flight.

I stayed 2 nights here and it was perfect for my needs. I was visiting on my own and didn't want to deal with being in a big city. The room was simple, in need of a little updating, but perfectly clean and adequate. Bed was very comfortable. The train station is 2 minutes away. In 1 hour you're at Ueno station and ready to explore Tokyo. Be warned though, the tickets are sold in an automatic machine so if you don't speak/read Japanese allow time to find someone to help. Narita City is very manageable and I felt safe walking there after dark as a single woman. Hotel staff very helpful with passable English. Get map and directions to get to the temple which is very much worth a visit. Restaurant and bar closed earlier than I expected (9/11pm) so if you arrive late you'll need to go out. There are vending machines in the hotel with beer and soda though. I advise passing on the buffet breakfast if you are looking for American fare. There is a Mcdonalds about a block away and I would have been better off getting an Egg McMuffin as I found little I wanted in the mornings. The shuttle from the airport is handy but call ahead to ask about the schedule as it is the least frequent of all the hotels. Being near the train outweighs that as I met other people waiting for their shuttle for other "airport" hotels. They had to take the shuttle to the airport to be able to catch a train into Tokyo. What a pain! This hotel is perfect if you don't want to be in Tokyo center (and pay the price for that) or just need a stop over near the airport.

Room Tip: Train noise didn't bother me but I'm a good sleeper.

Very good central location for Narita with free shuttle bus. Hotel decor on verge of fading and need of refurbising. Staff courteous and polite..( no surprise it's Japan)..rooms , well could be better..no tea or coffee options..but you can have green tea.Bath room/toilet..clean.Eating options , good..plenty of local eating options..plenty of bars nearby..try Jetlag bar..if your,e airline staff like me....lots to see nearby..no litter very clean locality.. 24/7 shop 50 yards away....could be better but still worth staying.
