“Good Service!!!”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Good recomendation for this Hotel, this is my 3rd time staying and I am so happy to stay at this Hotel. They have a good breakfast as well as good dinner (all you can eat). Hotel shuttle will pick you up from the Hotel either at Terminal 1 or 2, and they can drop you as well back to the Airport on your departure!!!

Room Tip: Very clean and very comfortable!!!

Although, the rooms are a bit dated, my stay here was good. My flight arrived late at 8p, thankfully, the hotel offers transportation from Nartia airport, which was extremely helpful for a first time visitor to Japan, room size is average for Japan standards. It has all the necessities. Stayed here overnight on first day of stay. Breakfast buffet is discounted if you buy at time of check in. Overall this was a good hotel for the money.

Still very basic, still hot, stuff and noisy and still somewhere I only stay because I have to.

However one new and potentially enjoyable addition is the rather peculiar toilet with a butt cleaning do-dah!!!!!!!

The staff remain very friendly and helpful, the drink in the pub is cheap enough and the location for Narita is fantastic.

Unfortunately I am still unable to be a fan of this hotel.

Summary: Stay here if you really want to be in this particular area (near the train station, with some restaurants around) or if you want to stick to the Accor chain. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere first.

Shuttle: We basically passed every other airport hotel on the 20-minute drive to the Mercure. If you have a very short layover and are desperate for sleep, stay somewhere else. I didn't mind too much because I wasn't in a hurry, I had my IPOD, and it was a nice tour of Narita. Another warning, though: there are sometimes an hour gap between shuttles. See the attached image of the schedule.

Area: Unlike a few other NRT airport hotels, this one is in an interesting area with many restaurants nearby, as well as a minimart. (That said, I ended up eating food from the minimart because I was tired and they accepted my credit card!) There's a McD's very close by, but the only take yen. The Kensai-Narita train station is also nearby, which could be a plus for some.

Rooms: They are small - ok for one person but maybe not for two - and mostly budget-style (nothing fancy), yet clean. The 32-inch flat-screen TV looked nice, yet seemed to have only about 8 channels, all in Japanese. The desk chair was not comfortable, and the desk was (necessarily) quite small. But the room did have a robe, fridge, and a tooth brush. I didn't hear even a peep of train noise from the 10th floor, even though I was facing the train tracks and could see the train pull into the station. Maybe the train noise is from tracks on the other side of the building?

Service: I didn't ask for much, but the staff were helpful and efficient when I interacted with them. English was pretty good.

By the way, there's an ice machine on the 4th floor, as well as a laundromat. I didn't do any laundry, but it appeared to be 100+200 Yen to wash and then dry (reasonable enough).

The hotel is very clean and neat and provide "DHC" japanese brand toiletries. Althought it is just next to the train station, the window is sound proof so it will not affect your sleep. It is less than 3 minute walk on the left turn of Keisei Narita train station (JPY250 from Narita Airport) or 5 min walk from JR Narita Station just opposite the hotel. The train ride is just 6 minute from the airport. Just turn right from the hotel exit, Macdonald is about 60m down the road and Narita-san Temple is just 800m further down the road which is a very nice place to visit with little japanese shops. There is a familymart convenience stall located 20m on the right, opposite the hotel exit. The tourist info. center is at the entrance of JR Narita Station.

The rooms are some of the smallest I've ever encountered in my travels. I had less than one inch from my head to the roof when showering which was different. The location allowed easy walking access to the markets and Shinto Temple and local transport which was handy. Overall it was reasonable for a short term traveller.

We booked this hotel for one night so that we wouldn't have to make our way to Tokyo after a long day travelling. The hotel provides a free bus between the airport and the hotel which is punctual and carefully driven. Check in was no fuss, polite and efficient. We booked a non smoking twin bed room (because they tend to be a little larger). The room was clean and had everything needed for a good night's sleep. Yes the bed rooms are small but so are most hotel rooms in Japan and yes the beds are firm, again as per usual. We did find our room overlooked the station and we could hear the trains but my husband was so tired he didn't notice and earplugs solved the problem for me. Breakfast in the hotel was good. Variety and inexpensive, the usual range of western and Japanese dishes. Reception staff organised the forwarding of one of our suitcases to another hotel and checkout was efficient and polite. The hotel was exactly what we needed for 1 night before we moved onto Tokyo.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the station. If you want a slightly larger room, book twin beds rather than...
