We had a few hours at Narita airport and took a taxi to explore Shinshoji Temple and the market streets in the area. Kind of a pricey taxi ride, but well worth it.....The temple is amazing and the shopping street leading to it from the train station are fantastic. There are many shops and restaurants......dozens of samples of food that I've never seen before!

Although it was freezing cold, we couldn't just take a couple of pictures and stayed a while around. Everyone is so committed to praying and respectful and thankful. Also the fair that is close by is interesting and a good place to get some souvenirs and gifts.

Walked round for a few hours and it really is beautiful great way to spend some time, although we did get a bit lost and spent longer trying to find the exit

Really enjoyed our visit to this temple and glad we made the effort. There is a quaint little street outside the temple full of Japanese restaurants and food stores which is almost as fascinating as the temple.
