We booked our rooms on jalan website and paid about 4000-4500 yen per pax per night for rooms with sea and canal view (without breakfast - We planned to travel out early the next morning by JR and it was easy to get breakfast at the train station Burger King and cafe). The hotel have two buildings, just adjacent to each other - Sonia and Sonia II. When we booked our rooms on jalan, we were not sure which one do we get. We ended up in Sonia II. On the whole the property has more rooms facing the canal than otherwise, so you get a good chance to be "upgraded" to canal and sea-facing rooms. The rooms are very spacious, even with two single beds and one sofa bed. The rooms are well-maintained and clean. The hotel is located about less than 10 minutes walk from the JR station only. But as we had big luggages, we took a cab which cost about 530 yen only (which is Otaru's starting fare).
