First impression from sight at JR station - it looks like a small factory.
Booked 2 rooms - double and triple share for 2 nights. Good location, near the JR station.
Experience at checkin counter was not good. Staff lacks sincerity and does not bother to even put on a smile. This is totally different from all other hotels we've stayed in Japan.
Double room was small for husband and wife while triple room was alright for 2 teens and 1 kid.
We bought a small packet of tako from a supermarket and requested the front office assistant to cut it but for 2 evening, they could not provide the service, citing the restaurant is closed and there is no knife available in the hotel to cut the tako? We have to throw the food away eventually.
We happened to chance upon Comfort Hotel(just a few metres away) while seeking directions and the hospitality displayed from staff at Comfort Hotel was a stark contrast to Smile Hotel. Weather was cold outside as it was snowing and we were offered free coffee to keep ourselves warm from the reception even though we were non guest there.More
