ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Chitose

A conveniently located, high quality hotel that is great value for money.

We had a very comfortable one night here as a transit stop on the way to Sahoro skiing. There is a free shuttle to and from Chitose airport, very friendly English speaking staff, scrupulously clean, stylishly furnished rooms and our tarrif had a full buffet breakfast included.

Rooms are a reasonable size, beds very comfortable, bathrooms spacious with every amenity.

This hotel exceeded our expectations particularly as transit travellers.

Excellent location for overnight stays close to Chitose airport. Just a short drive from the airport after a late arrival. The specifics of location have been previously detailed by others and we stayed there only one night so we have no first hand knowledge of the surrounding area. The rooms are larger than most in Japan and come closest to what Americans are used to. The facilities are very, very clean. Japanese hotels have a tendency to have bathrooms with sometimes slight to moderate "smells". Our room did not. There are several interesting (not sure if unique) amenities, like washers and sneaker dryers (that look like microwave ovens) in a room off the lobby. The morning buffet breakfast that came with our group tour package was outstanding. The two words I would use to describe this hotel are classy and corporate. (In a good sense)

Room Tip: non-smoking.

Stayed at the ANA Crowne Plaza for one night before an early morning flight to Tokyo. Chose it as I’m a priority club member, the reviews on TA were good and the price was decent. Arrived into Chitose airport by Resortliner bus from the Rusutsu ski area (2 hr trip). The transfer bus from the airport departs from bus stand 30 on level 1 at the domestic terminal at Chitose – ask at the airport information desk for the timetable. As an aside, the shopping and food options at the domestic terminal in CTS are simply amazing! I ate here before heading to the hotel. It’s about a 15-20 minute trip depending on traffic

As was my experience throughout Japan, the staff were falling over themselves to help me with baggage, check in etc immediately on arrival. Coming from a country like the UK where there isn’t such a great service culture it can be a bit overwhelming but it’s also wonderful and much appreciated by a tired traveller! My room was on the 10th floor with a view to the airport. Nice clean room and reasonable size. Free high speed wifi, tea/coffee etc as you’d expect. No leisure club though. I didn’t eat dinner at the hotel but in the lobby rather bizarrely there are a variety of vending machines also selling drinks (incl beer) and hot food! Very comfortable soft bed and complete peace and quite gave me a lovely night’s sleep before an early breakfast at 05.40 when the restaurant opened. Mix of western and Japanese food as ever. Nicely laid out and very tasty. First transfer bus to CTS leaves at 06.20 (promptly, don’t be late!). The bus stopped at two other hotels and was packed by the time we arrived at the airport with several of us standing.

Overall a really pleasant last night in Japan and I would highly recommend the ANA Crowne Plaza if you’re flying in/out of CTS. If you’ve never flown into CTS in winter, be aware that its usually pretty cold (minus 12C for me) so be sure to have appropriate clothing available!

Stayed for 2 nights as location was very close to Chitose airport. Noticed that alot of aircrews stays here too. Comfortable and very clean hotel. A big departmental store(AEON) within 5 minutes walk, very convenient. 10 mins walk to train station if you need to go Sapporo, travelling time is about 35mins on the express train. There's a Japanese BBQ/GhengizKhan restaurant just behind the hotel, which serves seafood and meat for grilling, highly recommended.

This was the last hotel we stayed at on the Japanese trip. The room was excellent, with good desk, fridge, free LAN link, table, comfortable chairs, good bed, pillows and all the trimmings in the bathroom. Difficult to fault.

We left early for the airport taking breakfast as it opened 5:40 as I recall and the first shuttle out 6:20 or something like that. Others warned on here that the shuttle runs to time, it does so best get those little jobs done with a few minutes to spare since it will be there waiting for the exact time to depart.

Breakfast was good but having little time to savour the delights and go back for more the experience felt a bit incomplete. The coffee in the pots was freshly brewed although these were not handed out but I helped myself. The air crews were fluffed over since they were on a schedule but so were we.

Kitamura Cameras is across the road if you need some odds and ends [very good camera stores in town at the station BIC and Yodobashi whilst Kitamura have stores across the island of assorted sizes]. Also a selection of eateries line the streets if you don't fancy hotel dinner rates. There is a large mall just down the road for any shopping needs.

So it's not a bad hotel as your last place before flying off. Mazda car rentals operation also dropped us off here after renting a car for several weeks after we returned it to their offices just outside the airport. This avoided the need to lug our bags either by train or other means to the ANA from their offices. Thus very happy with the way the holiday ended on a high.

We arrived on the 19th April from Narita and stayed two nights in the hotel. Airline crew stayed here too. Big and comfortable rooms. Continental/Japanese menus were served for breakfast.
Staff speaks English and were very friendly too. Tour groups use this hotel too, so it can be
rather noisy when they arrive but overall it's a good hotel.
