Matsue Castle, built in the early 17th Century is a fedual castle. It is one of the few castles in Japan which exist in it's original form(Wooden), and not rebuilt. Apparently among all the castle's in Japan, it is the 6th Oldest, second largest and third tallest. It provides a very good photo opportunity for visitors, with it's scenic surrounding.
English guides are available free of charge for a tour of the castle. Entrance is 280 Yen for foreigners. The top watchtower provides a 360 degree view of Matsue City. From the Matsue Station, it's only a 10 minute travel by Bus or Car. A Must visit for every traveler to Matsue.
