Worth a visit if you live in Tokyo. Only an hour away but I recommend a nights stay in Shizuoka city too.
The museum has a great Rodin gallery and a decent collection of impressionist art. Quite impressive considering its somewhat remote location (6 mins from Shizuoka city then a 20minute walk - or bus/taxi if you prefer).
The museum is alongside the prefectural library and had a pleasant sculpture garden as you approach it. Don't miss the park on the hillside immediately behind the museum as it has a nice view across the prefecture on a clear day.
