It's true that the room itself was not gorgeous, but look out the window at some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, and you will be more than joyful. The facility has much wonderful to recommend it, you can bathe until the cows come home. There are stores full of more DHC products than you can every imagine --- and they're wonderful and enticing. A fantastic restaurant awaits just a little shuttle van ride away farther up in the complex -- great place for lunch. And you should absolutely not miss the charming town of Izukogen. All very charming, very Japanese, in a beautiful part of the country. But then, what in Japan is not beautiful?

- Beware: We stayed in a room on the 3rd floor of the South Building. Seemed to have severe rising damp, probably from the onsen below.

- We were breathing in mouldy air all night. All of us had a fever the next day (not sure if it was related).

- Despite this we were charged the full 44,000 yen ($435) on checkout for 1 night (2 adults & 1 child), not including dinner. No compensation offered.

- This room should not be offered to Guests until it is officially Inspected and Fixed! Potential health hazard.

We really relaxed this hotel for 3 days during our trip in Japan. We staid in a large and peacefull room with tatami and sight to the ocean. We even found very nice yukata to dress all our stay long.
The hotel has 3 restaurants, shops, bowling, tennis court, tennis table room, resting room etc, most of them with a super sight!
The onsen is included in the price and it's just beatiful and well organized. It was an amazing experience for us.
We couldn't ask more. Our minds became free and bodies finally refreshed!
Ms Suzukawa explained many things and was very helpfull and kind!
We loved to stay much more!! Hope to come back!

Great day onsen on the way to and from Shimoda. Amazing view over the ocean and the nearby coast. You can reserve your private family onsen for yourself.

During full moon nights the view over the ocean is epic. Great place.

Better reserve, it is always very full on weekends.
