The food is the main attraction here. Their 10 course meal option gives you a chance to sample some of the best fish in Japan in various styles of cooking.
The only downside to this place is that tattooed customers are not allowed in the onsen (like many places in Japan). This is easy to overlook when you consider the quality of the rooms, the food, and the friendliness of the staff.
I personally would recommend being able to speak 1 year's study of Japanese before coming here. It will make communication with staff (who mostly do not speak English) much easier for you.
Remember that this place is in the countryside, so getting around may prove troublesome after hours without a taxi. Most places close early though, so be sure to plan travel arrangements while in Izu Kogen ahead of time.More
