Description: In 1980, the Raindancer Restaurant, located at 4582 Route 30, was established by Doreen and Walter Porath. This family-run business has grown considerably during the past 35 years. In an effort to stay current and better serve the community, the restaurant has had numerous additions, renovations and creative concepts that were implemented to keep things fresh. This constant improvement, combined with the old-fashioned notion of ample portions, quality ingredients, top-notch service and the community support we have continued to receive, has kept the Raindancer at the top of everyone's dining list throughout the years. At the Raindancer, we offer different menus for all occasions. Whether it's a quiet, romantic dinner, casual dining, take-out and party platters or to help you plan a party, the Raindancer is here for you. We have multiple dining rooms available to help make that special occasion something extra special. We offer a banquet menu that can be customized to fit your special occasion. We can accommodate for bereavement luncheons, bridal and baby showers, rehearsal dinners, receptions or company business meetings. We are open year-round with the exceptions of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Memorial Day. For all other holidays, we offer dinner features such as a traditional Thanksgiving dinner or a Mother's Day or Easter dinner for your family. Our dinner and lite fare (lunch) menus are available throughout the restaurant anytime. Choose from a selection of over 80 items on our menu and our daily feature board (Polish Night is every Tuesday). Plus, we offer an exceptional salad bar with breads baked in-house daily. If you plan to eat at any earlier hour, we offer an early bird menu seven days a week. The Raindancer also offers any of our menu items, party platters and features for take-out (except the early bird menu). Just call ahead and your order will be ready at our pickup window. And if you're just looking for a quick bite to eat, then join us in our cocktail lounge and enjoy great food, great atmosphere and a wide variety of wines and beer alongside one of our fireplaces. We offer over 80 Wines by the glass and 20 different beers on tap. The Raindancer Restaurant opens at 11:30 am, Monday through Saturday and at 12:30 p.M. On Sundays. We look forward to seeing you for lunch, dinner or your next special occasion.

It has been awhile since we got take out from the Raindancer - so we gave it another try - My husband got the Rib Eye steak - I had the veal Marsala
his came with the bake potato I went with mashed - also a salad comes with your dinner - big enough - I took mine for my lunch - also rolls - everything was good - they did not forgot anything - which has happen to us several times but we did not order much this time - it is expensive - that was over $50.00 - for the 2 dinners.
The take out window works well you just drive up do not have to get out of your car to go inside.

The Raindancer Restaurant has spent its entire life on a busy commercial stretch of Route 30, between Perth and Amsterdam. The decor is an average American style with an eclectic display of old and new (old bike hanging from the ceiling, for example). Most of the rooms are small, not terribly crowded though, and that just makes the experience a bit more intimate.

The waitstaff are very professional, probably due to the high standards set by the owner and his manager, Jamie, who is just delightfully friendly and accommodating.

The food is traditional American fare, with steaks their specialty. The salad bar is terrific, and includes bread, cheese, various salads and other sides. Or you can get a lovely Caesar salad instead.

Take the time for an appetizer or soup. If you have hit the right night, you can get a cheddar-beer soup that will make your tummy smile.

This is not a place where you will want to rush through dinner. Just enjoy the ambiance, sip your wine or tea and savor the experience.

Just out for a nice late-ishlunch on Super Bowl Sunday. The Raindancer has a reputation for quality food and a comfortable atmosphere. We were seated in a cozy table by a fireplace in a mostly empty dining room. The bar area seemed pretty full. Very friendly and attentive waitress. Nicely poured Guinness. Two of us had lighter fare sandwiches, one had an entrée from the specials list. Food was very very slow in arriving. Sandwiches were fine but the entree although it looked very good was very dry. I would go again, just because the service was so pleasant, but I hope we just hit a small bump with the food.

I went there with 8 adults and a 4 year old girl. We had a great table a little out of the way of other diners. The decor was rustic but interesting, with real books lining the walls and bikes hanging over our heads. Some of us had filet mignon, and it was delicious! The shrimp dishes were also very good, and the macaroni and cheese was great for our little girl. My favorite dessert is chocolate mousse pie--a huge piece with an amazing crust. The salad bar had a lot of choices, and various breads, even some kind of quick bread. The service was excellent and the wine list was adequate.

We were just in Amsterdam and as always, made a couple trips to the Raindancer. Everything on the menu is a sure bet. Favorites at our table; hot turkey and mashed potatoes, veal oscar, and a special item you won't find on the menu-Shrimp Raindancer! Ask your server for it. And speaking of server, our server Cheryl was outstanding. She brought me a killer Irish Coffee which I really needed. Their wait staff is always on their toes and knowledgeable. Everytime we are in town we will continue to make it to this yummy restaurant.
