Entered for a cup of coffee, ended up enjoying 4 hours of great wine and most dishes on the menu... including desert. Too bad they ran out of chocolate mousse, better order it once you get there!

We found this place by chance.
You really would believe you are in a bistro in Paris. Also the chairs and tables on the terrace are typically French.
We had the bavette and is was excellent. Also some nice wines.
Just a great evening for reasonable prices.

We had lunch here with our guide whilst visiting Matsumoto Castle. We wanted something other than Soba and Udon, hence choosing a French restaurant. The menu was in both Japanese and French which was no problem. We ordered Soupe du jour ( cream of potato) and Steak frites. The soup was fine but the steak was excellent. The portion size was large and it was served rare with salad and plenty of frites. Our guide chose a sandwich ( cheese and ham baguette). With drinks, the bill for the 3 of us came to 7,000 yen which we considered excellent value . They had various desserts plus typical French savouries such as Croque Monsieur and Croque Madame ( cheese and ham). Definitely one to visit if looking for a change from Japanese.

We ended up at this gem after most of the other restaurants were full, only had Japanese menus or only catered for smoking customers. The menu was in Japanese and French, which was less of a problem than the Japanese only

The waiter was extremely helpful in getting translations for so,e of the items. My son had a scrambled egg - prepared to perfection. We started with the brie starter - highly recommended, followed by the stuffed chicken and the beef. Both dishes were perfect - the beef the best we've had in Asia. We finished off with a creme brulee and the chocolate lave cake - a perfect ending.

We had their house red - a really nice drinking wine.

If you are in Matsumoto - don't miss this gem!!!

I had the chicken lunch served with mashed potatoes and vegetables and a good glass of French red wine. The chicken was out of this world, very juicy and crispy on the outside. Very highly recommended! They also played live radio from France streamed thought the cafe.
