If you had to invent a stereotypical provincial business hotel, this would be it. It's reasonable to the point of cheap, comfortable, bland, clean, and pleasant.

It's quite big and hence easy to find, and within walking distance of the main train station. There's limited car parking for a small fee, in the lot opposite the hotel. Check-in is on the first floor, and was very polite and efficient (tho' in Japanese). You pre-pay with your credit card in a machine, but the clerk will walk you through the process. The rooms are generous by the standards of business hotels (i.e. small by global standards but you can get through the door!), simply appointed, and perfectly comfortable. There was a good work desk, LAN internet (free), kettle, and humidifier, and a good quality unit bath - all as expected in a business hotel. The bed was comfortable.

There's a diner on the ground floor affiliated to the hotel, open 24 hours, and the food is good and inexpensive, tho' the Japanese rendition of an American family restaurant would baffle most mid-Westerners. However between the hotel and Matsumoto station there's an entertainment area so in the evening you're much better off exploring more interesting restaurants and bars.

There's no real need for service - this is a place to sleep'n'go - but one incident was rather nice. We'd asked for directions to the car rental agency, and the reception clerk gave us slightly incorrect directions (we still found it easily). When we returned, the same girl came to find me to apologise profusely for her mistake!

Check-out was very easy as everything was prepaid, and took about 15 seconds.

This is a good use of your money if you need to overnight in Matsumoto - great value, and I recommend it.

Great location and within walking distance of the train station and Matsumoto Castle. Very comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Ladies received additional complimentary beauty products and pamper goodies at reception upon check-in. Good pay tv selection.

Hotel is 3 min walk from station. Face away from the station and walk along the shopping street to the left of the Macdonalds. Then take a left on to the main street. It's in front of the parco department store. The room was large with lots of extras- shampoo, face mask etc! There is a washing machine here also as very handy. But bring ur own washing tablets as the ones provided weren't great. I would totally recommend that u check out the castle and the area . Also go to a resturant called kura which is the otherside of the parco department. It's a beautiful little resturant with English menu. Food was totally amazing!! Recommend the kaiseki menu with basashi( horse sashimi) the staff were lovely and even gave us 2 hand drawn pictures when we left. The meal was reasonably priced.

Very new hotel...only 5 minutes walk from Matsumoto station.Rooms are relatively small...BUT you are given everything you need...slippers,pyjamas(of a sort),a fridge, a great selection of toiletries, washlet toilets and there are even phone chargers! The 7th floor of the hotel offers a number of vending machines and there is even a washing machine and tumble dryer..should you need them.

Only about a 5 - 10 minute walk to the castle. The hotel is surrounded by convenience stores and lots of restaurants.

Excellent value for money.

I got used to staying at small Japanese business hotel rooms, so the room here looked big. The front desk staff were all very nice and one speaks good English. The location is closed to everything. If you are female guest, they will let you pick some skin care stuff for free when you check in. I wished the breakfast was buffet; instead, you go to 24 hr Denny's type place nearby for the breakfast and it wasn't enough food for me and the egg there were so runny.

Stayed here towards the end of our 4 week trip so we had already experienced numerous hotels.

The room size was fantastic - we had booked a superior room, and we were very impressed with the room size. There was room to walk around, places to put your luggage, nothing was crammed in - fantastic.

The location is great, about a 5-10 minute walk from the train station and there are plenty of restaurants around the hotel. It is also not too far from the Matsumoto hotel.

They have laundry services which are pretty cheap, and they did a good job so we were very pleased with that.

The hotel is very quiet, the bed was comfy and we had non-rice pillows which I appreciated!! Their video pay card gave you plenty of movie selection for only 1,000 yen.

The staff at reception were friendly, they spoke basic english and helped us work out how to use their computer to pay for check in.

Overall, a fantastic stay and would recommend to anyone.

Not the easiest place to book - they never responded to emails, so we had to phone and rely on turning up without confirmation - but it was worth the modest anxiety beforehand. Very friendly service at reception, even though we had to rely on my basic Japanese, and a pleasant, good-sized room, with a view out to the surrounding mountains. Hardly a bargain, but an excellent location between the station and the more historic centre, and with several streets of attractive restaurants very close by. Worth signing up for breakfast in the immaculate coffee shop downstairs.
