The cheapest room are lousy, not welcoming and smelly, poor bathroom. However, the better category really make a difference, great bathroom, and homy feeling. The bar on top of the building is nice. Continental breakfast poor. Next time i go to Kanazawa, i'll try book somewhere else.

If you travel to/from Kanazawa by train it is prime locaiton. You can walk underground from the station to the hotel basement if it is a rainy day.

The lobby, hallways indicate 5 star, the rooms 4 star-level. Unfortunately there some staff who do not understand even the most simple words or questions in English and for a Nikko-hotel in Asia, that is not what I would expect.

As other reviewers have commented the Tepanyaki is great. It is not cheap but in my opinion worth every yen for the quality of the food and service.

We wanted to try the French restaurant the 2nd evening as it was raining a lot but we have to give up. The lady greeting you on the 30th floor did not understand any English, showed us a menu in Japanese and could not locate any colleagues to help. From the menu we could see that they had set-menus only starting at 13.000 yen and no a la carte.

The bar service on 29th floor is good. The first evening there was a cover charge of 500 yen for just drinks. The 2nd evening there was no cover charge - maybe because we had food as well?

Breakfast - buffet on the 2nd floor is pretty basic and average. You do not need to leave hungry but it is not great either. For tea and coffee it is also self-service and that is not 5 nor 4 star rating.

Stayed here for two nights. Hotel is just across the road from the train station, an easy walk and a great base for exploring Kanazawa. The decor of the hotel was classy, the staff helpful and the room clean and fresh. The lounge on the top floor has a great view, although you may have to pay a cover charge, even as a guest. Breakfast was fine, with decent western and japanese options.

A great hotel near the station. Our room was an odd shape so we felt a little squeezed in but the fitments were quality. The food here was excellent but there were many quality, cheap eateries nearby. It is across the road from the station and the city Loop Bus service.

Just a short walk from the station - underground if it's wet - A terrific hotel right in the heart of town with great rooms. A fabulous tepanyaki bar on the 30th floor along with a very nice bar just 1 floor above.
Rooms were excellent and breakfast good also. You can also go to the Japanese restaurant for a real Japanese style breakfast.
The lobby is impressive with comfortable, stylish seating

If it's cold and raining, like it was when we arrived in Kanazawa, then you can actually go subterranean all the way to reception! But on a first visit, after exiting the station, walk to the road crossing at the lights and heading to the right where the Nikko is about 100 metres away. The check-in area is quite grand and our roomy room on the 28th floor was divine. The room and the bathroom looked like they had been recently renovated and the bathroom was a pleasure to be in. Lounging in the bath watching a game of base-ball was very relaxing! The furnishings, linen, towels and bathroom products were all excellent and the bed was extremely comfortable. We ate in the only hotel restaurant which had room, which turned out to be the $35 buffet which had something for everyone and we enjoyed it - even more when they managed to conjure up a reasonable bottle of red! For $150 our room was superb value and very convenient for the tourist who wants to appreciate what Kanazawa has to offer.

This is a very beautiful hotel, 5-star standard. Very nice and elegant lobby. Spacious and fully equipped guest rooms. Great location, few minutes' walk from Kanazawa JR Station with underground walk way to the hotel. Close to shopping malls, restaurants, and travel information center. But staff almost cannot speak English.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor room.
