We stayed here for 2 nights in March 2018. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and speak excellent English. The hotel provides recommendations of local eateries and places to see, which we enjoyed. There is a small cafe on the ground floor that serves an excellent ginger latte (my partner had it twice). It is also 2 minutes walk from Omi-cho market and close to the other historic districts. If we came we would stay again, thoroughly recommend

There was a bit of faff checking in as the receptionist doubled up as bar tender. Also they tried charging us for the room although it was pre-payed (honest mistake which was quickly cleared up).

Even with the above, the Hotel is cheap, clean and a very good location to explore the main attractions of Kanazawa. Really... for the money paid, cant help but to say the check in fuss can be excused and I have to say it was, for the money paid, an excellent hotel in Japan.

Great little place. Very helpful friendly staff. Small room but spotless and comfy bed and pillows.
Breakfast simple toast and yogurt with coffee very reasonable and a nice change from Japanese full breakfast.
Good location - catch the Number 4 bus from station to the market using rail pass walk with undercover through the market and take an exit lane on the right hand side of the market and your there.

I loved this hotel. It's got a great deal of style: a polished retro bar, funky in-built vintage radio by the bed. The staff are wonderful: full of good advice and extremely helpful (going the extra mile, calling a bakery about allergies for me to see if I can eat their cookies at the bar). And it's a short walk to the castle, garden, etc.. I would definitely stay here again if I am back in funky charming Kanazawa.

We stayed in a non-smoking double bedroom. Though cosy, it felt quite generous, in spite of its past history as a business hotel, due to a light and streamlined finish. Some of the furniture/fittings are restored pieces from the 60s; I had a lot of fun playing with the analogue radio that was on the bedhead. However, please note that the bathrooms are very small (this is typical for a business hotel) and there is not a lot of storage space for clothes (just a small row of hooks along the wall).

The rest of the hotel continues to embrace its mid-century aesthetic with pot plants and a sympathetically decorated elevator. There is a coin-operated laundry and a hip cafe/bar which serves some nice drinks (try the homemade plum, apricot or citrus liquer) and some tasty cookies/scones. There are also bikes for hire, though we did not use these during our stay.

The location for Hotel Pacific was perfect for us. We pretty much walked everywhere: Kanazawa station, Omicho market, Kanazawa castle, the famous Kenroku-en gardens, Higashichaya district, 21st century museum, and the Suzuki museum. The ninja temple was a bit further away but was still within walking distance. We also found lots of good restaurants near the hotel. The area was pretty quiet as well; no pachinko parlours to ruin my sleep!

Best part of this stay were the staff and the hotel's dining recommendations. The staff had fairly good English and were always very helpful, so we were able to ask them to book restaurants and activities quite easily through them. To the staff at Hotel Pacific: thanks for helping us experience a lovely time in Kanazawa. :)
