Our stay here was so awesome. The mom and pop feel was very prevalent. She called us a cab for the indoor swimming park and then walked us out and talked to the cab driver to save us from wasting time with directions.
The food was incredible and there is an amazing bar right across the street. Since Takayama is known for their sake production, the bartender gave us and incredible lesson into the different types and even gave us samples of each as he explained them. The best part was that he told us how o sneak back into the ryokan after it's curfew. If you're going to Takayama you HAVE to get the sake and the Hida beef.More
