“decent and convenient”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2013

Had stayed here for the night while on a business trip. The hotel is bang opposite the station and from that perspective is convenient. There are a lot of bars and restaurant options nearby with a convenient store right opposite the rear entrance.
The room was small, typical business hotel style, but clean and comfortable. This hotel has WiFi unlike many other hotels in Japan.
The breakfast is primarily Japanese cuisine, though there are some continental options.

Great location from the train station but our nonsmoking room smelled of smoke. The breakfast had an enormous selection of Japanese food and a good assortment of western style foods but the room was extremely hot. Lots of business people but overall needs updating.

Hello, I have spent 2 nights there recently. Location is good, 10 mins walk from the main subway station. Close to big shopping mall and lots of local restaurants around. The hotel itself is just good for sleep, nothing else. In my opinion The Associa Marriot hotel will be a better choice because it it just above the station with less than 1 min walk.

Hotel is nice and clean and staff is very friendly. I had a single room, so quite small, but doubles are bigger. But even if it wasn't huge, it had all the necessary amenities, even in the bathroom (comb, conditioner, body lotion, slippers, tea making facilities, etc...) Bedding was lovely.
Breakfast was nice. No egg station but all the rest was fine and there was a good choice also for westeners.
Tv doesn't have international channels.
Only 2 minutes walking from the train station, so very conveniently located.
Just one thing, I could hear the noice of the traffic light from my room. I noticed around 11pm and 6am, not sure if they turn it off duirng the night.
I would go there again in my next visit to Nagoya.

We arrived in Nagoya in the midst of Typhoon #17 and to our joy the Meitetsu New Grand Hotel is no more than 10 meters from the up elevator from the underground shopping plaza. Got from the shinkansen to the hotel without even opening our umbrellas.

We had a double twin room, small by western standards but more than adequate. Good lighting at the desk, table and bed if you want to read before retiring. Clean, nothing too fancy but better than the average business hotel. The coffee shop in the lobby has excellent pastry items, which in Japan are normally more eye than taste appeal. These were actually pretty good.

NOTE, we came down late for breakfast, 9:00 am and pickings were fairly slim, suggest you get there for breakfast by 8:00, food was acceptable and lots of bread available. The dining room for dinner looked a little too expensive for us so we went back to the underground shopping area where there are a number of moderate and inexpensive priced resturants on the west (I think) end of the mall, but beaware they close fairly early 9:00 pm.

They seem to be able to handle English speaking guests with no problem, and the location is impossible to beat for convenience and price. Note there is a BIC Camera on the first 5 floors of the building, and a full scale Takashimaya Department store in the station.

Stayed here for a night, much better than the old one. Also its more conveniently located to the Shinkansen tracks. The hotel is a clean and new hotel. The staff were very helpful. Good place to spend the night.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2012

I stayed for one week in this hotel and I don't have any complaints. The staff was very helpful and polite. The rooms were kept clean and the hotel well maintained. I didn't have any internet connection for a day or so and when I approached the staff, one came to the room to personally assist me.

The location itself was prime as it was steps away from the station and the mall.

I would definitely stay here again!
