Owner description: Four routes, each divided into ten sections by stopping and refueling stations, lead up to Mt. Fuji's snow-covered tip. You don't have to be a die-hard mountaineer to climb Mt. Fuji; the slopes are full of children and adults of all ages, shapes, and sizes. The official climbing season only runs from the beginning of July to the end of August, but you can take the train from Toyko to the fifth station any season.

Mount Fuji is giant landmark very easy to see while you travel around chubu (center or middle region of Honshu). We from Iswan to Mount Fuji top. Due to we are at the high side, we can see surround mountain landscape. One thing unique here is regard selling "Mount Fuji Air tin can".

The best spot to shot should be nearby lake or something can have nice water reflection.

The perfect time to be at Japan's tallest mountain would be summer - July to August. You can either plan for you own trek or join a group tour.

Some people would say there's nothing to see at the top. They're correct but climbing for 7-12 hours is worth the experience after seeing the sunrise. It's one of the prettiest sunrise I've ever seen.

A note to climbers, it could be pretty cold up there. You can either stay in a cabin for 7,000 yen and start climbing again from 2 am. The queue must be very long already though and you may nit reach the summit before the sunrise. In case you decide to go up directly, bring all the necessary things that could keep you warm. No cabin to sleep at the top.

Food and drinks are a bit expensive. Avoid eating too much too. There are toilets / restroom on every station but you might not handle the smell :)

Was just there yesterday with the weather clear and the temp 70 degrees. Quite a long drive to get to the 5th station which is the highest you can drive to. I have never seen so many tour buses. We were able to see easily to the peak and the pictures are spectacular. There are people who hand out a coupon such that you can go into a store and get a good luck bell.
The stores were busy and there are places to eat. The star was the mountain.
You can go to the post office there and buy a postcard to mail to yourself or anyone with the Mt Fuji postmark.
It was one of the highlights of our visit to Japan.

Went to Mt Fuji in late June 2013 and got up to the 5th Station as wasn't much snow on top.Went there with TOUR company called Grey Line and the English speaking Japanese host which I cannot remember her name was very sweet and helpful showing us Mt Fuji and Hakone.

We took a tour from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji and it was really worth it. You get to see other places too on the way, like Hakone and Lake Ashi. We were lucky as we had a beautiful day. We made a stop before going to 5th Station and the view was awsome.
