The hotel is in a great position and the definite highlight is the beach which is wide, clean with plenty of sun beds and a volleyball court.
I must say that the hotel is starting to age and if you are considering one of the high end resorts (with direct access to the beach) in town this clearly ranks #2 after the kempinski. The pool area is old-ish and the rooms tired. Breakfast was really huge although service was not worth a 5* raring in my opinion. For example I was not allowed to use the wifi after checkout (9am) and was asked 8jod for an hour internet.
If the kempinski is within your range I would go for it over the intercontinental.

This is a beautiful hotel and a haven in Aqaba - which as a resort is frankly not much. Aqaba itself is scruffy and litter strewn - you would not want to spend time on the public beach!

The hotel is lovely with excellent facilities - lovely pools. We booked a club floor room which turned out to be great value. We were upgraded to a suite which was just beautiful - I could have moved in! They brought fruit and flowers to the room and there was fresh bottled water.
There is nothing to do here except laze in the sun so a couple of days was enough for us. The hotel has a private beach which is beautifully kept.
The club lounge was really good, excellent breakfast, enough for lunch and free alcohol between 7 and 8 every evening. There are also snacks between 7 and 9 every evening so there was no need for dinner. The lounge has private balconies so you can sit in the warm air outside on your own, eat, drink and look at the stars and floodlit pools - heaven!

Thanks Intercon - we had a great time!

Room Tip: Pay extra for the club floor if you can - the extra cost is offset by the food and drink that you can have in the club lounge

My family and i stayed for one week at this hotel and enjoyed every minute of it.
The hotel has perfect location right on the beach with private beach area.. Service was good and we experienced no problems.
I have seen that other travellers has complained that there is no complimentary internet at this hotel.
There is now!!!
The only drawback was that the pool was very cold so we could not use it.
We were there the last week in february.

Great Hotel!!

Room Tip: Choose a room at the east corner and you will have a view over both the city of Aqaba and the red sea.

We loved this hotel, we stayed here for 8 nights in November 2012, everything was excellent.
Top friendly Service at the Reception and at the Breakfast . The food is very good! :)
The hotel is located neer the center of Aqaba, so you can enjoy walks away anytime

Regarding wifi is very expensive, we paid $ 15 per hour.
But you can dine at local restaurants in town that offer free wifi.

The hotel is great, also the pool and about the beach...I can say that enchanted us :)
We recommend this hotel...
ENJOY!
