I was in Jordan for a few weeks on business and visited Aqaba over one of the weekends.

Elegant first impression was ruined by the front desk - these guys need a refresher course on customer service. They need to more effectively manage how people queue up and actually be friendly to guests when they check-in and check-out.

Other than that, it was a great experience. The Club Lounge has delicious food and attentive wait staff; the pool area is beautifully designed and well maintained; and i totally enjoyed sitting out on my balcony where i could enjoy the view and listen to the music but get away from the kids and cigarette smoke.

There must be some serious hotels in Aqaba if this is not the number one. Booked primarily to be on the beach within the hotel grounds. The hotel is a 5 star, and from the service, rooms, food, pools it is well deserved. Hotel is an 8 minute walk to the centre of Aqaba. So not out of the way either. Pity we had to leave. Nothing to fault. Intercontinental hotels will always be on my list, if and when i can afford them

Room Tip: They share a loyalty card with the Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza etc, if you are a member you get a room...

This is a smart hotel, with large spacious and clean bedrooms, with excellent sea views. Choose the side facing Eilat you have excellent sunsets on your balcony. The bathrooms need a makeover as ours was a bit mouldy due to a broken extractor fan. The beach and pool area seemed the best out of all the 5* hotels in this area. There are plenty of sunbeds and space, with lots of fish inches from the shore literally. The pool area got a bit noisey with big groups of Americans arriving (cruise ship workers?!), but the beach is a lot quieter.
The breakfast had a wide choice but it wasn't the best ever, they could do with a waffle/pancake cook, the sweet/pastry selections in jordan are disappointing compared to other countries.
The location is perfect, 10 minutes walk from the local restaurants and shops. Aqaba isn't the most scenic place to go for a walk, but it's perfect to rest after a long holiday visiting the sights for a few days. We are pleased we chose Intercontinental compare to seeing the neighbouring hotels for the price it was.

Room Tip: Eilat sea view for the sunsets

Keeping it simple, THE PLUS POINTS: On a well kept private beach, amazing pool, good ambiance, 15 minute walk to town, friendly and helpful staff, great views from your personal balcony, Club Room is totally worth the extra bucks as it gives you free wifi and a peaceful all day lounge to chill in, starting with a great breakfast (no madness with egg station queues and screaming kids) and an evening happy hour thrown in. THE MINUS POINTS: Rooms are a little aged, housekeeping is a bit confused and on weekends they have music blasting by the poolside, terrible if you're looking for a peaceful getaway.

Room Tip: Club Room is the way to go, if you can splash out for it, totally worth it!

This was an amazing hotel with great service, and by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Everything we asked for was dealt with speedily and the staff were helpful, rooms are spacious and clean, nice balcony overlooking pool and the sea, and really comfy beds. The pool is gorgeous especially at night, and this hotel is literally on the beach -which is a private beach - so you can go from pool to beach whenever you want. Great food and drinks, good beach bar, and as far as I know they seemed to have good kids activities. Good breakfast too. The only bad thing is that there is no wifi in the room- there is internet but you have to use a cable for it so it's no good for phones or ipads. (There is wifi in the lobby downstairs though). Location is great especially if you don't have a car as it is 5mins walk from the centre of Aqaba.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view

Greetings from InterContinental Aqaba Resort!

Nothing much to add to your wonderful review, if not to thank you for it. Yet one point: we will upgrade in November (Insha’Allah, as we say) our internet connections not only inside the room, but actually all over the resort. Our guests will enjoy wifi throughout the hotel, whether in the comfort of their rooms or on the beach.

No reason not to return soon.

enjoyed 3 nights at this lovely property. rooms are spacious and comfortable. balcony with sea view is lovely. it is within walking distance of some nice restaurants as well. kids activities are available with very nice leaders. beach is wonderful - clean and water is clear and calm - perfect for children. only improvement i would recommend would be for the beach bar staff to make rounds more often to guests in chaise lounges. it seemed that every single time we would have liked to place an order, we had to go to the bar or find a waiter ourselves. the service on the beach from the beach bar is also very very slow. it is very easy to organize snorkeling trip with concierge at hotel. i do highly recommend staying here and do plan to return.

Greetings from InterContinental Aqaba Resort!

A heartfelt thank you for your nice comments. I have duly noted our shortfall in beach service, and have already passed on the message to the concerned Department Head so that we can improve in this field. So when you return, your review will be looking like an advertisement to the resort.

I have just returned from a 6 day stay in Intercontinental Aqaba. Everything was simply perfect: rooms, cleanness, staff, food, pools, beach.
My friend got very sick and I had to go out late to buy her medications, one guy ( I guess a shift manager) did not let me go out at such an hour and instead he sent another worker to get us the medications, it was very helpful.

I would definitely get back to this hotel,
